New 2015 ZT lineup

Arghh I can't stop thinking about the 0450 now.

I got big blades well covered, I've been leaning more on utility 3 inch this past year. This seems perfect. Only thing to make it "better" is M390 steel but boohoo S35vn will more than do.

After having three elmax zt blades crack for no reason (I never use my blades other than opening and closing them) I sworn off Elmax completely. I won't go near it. Glad to see the change.
Seriously? You personally had three ZT Elmax blades crack on you just because you opened and closed them? That's the first I've heard of that happening to one ZT Elmax blade . . . let alone three of them. Did you send the knives back to ZT? If you did, what was their response?

Looks like they are done with all the complaints, problems, and issues with their Elmax and are moving to what most midtechs are using. S35VN. Glad to see it. I'm liking that 900 and 808 and 452.

Please elaborate on how a high quality knife blade can "crack" solely by opening and closing them and how you have been so misfortunate to have that happen not once, not twice, ....but three times???

0452CF.

Any chance it will be available by March? My wife said she would get me whatever knife I wanted for our anniversary.

Seriously, that is an awesome looking knife. I usually draw the line at 5" closed as the biggest I will carry, but I think I can make an exception for that beauty.

For what it's worth, I reported ShepardCC's post to the moderating staff. Perhaps a moderator can get to the bottom of it. In the interim, I'd suggest we put it behind us and get back on topic.

ShepardCC has been a member of this community for a while, both in paricipation and as a knife modifier/ kydex worker. I have yet to hear any negative feedback or issues with his work. While I'm also very curious to hear about the problems with the knives, it's a bit premature to get out the pitchforks.

The opinion as to the switch to S35V is at best an uninformed one. It's already been said in other threads but it's worth repeating the switch is due to availability. If you can't get "A" in the quantity you need to meet production and "B" is available the choice seems pretty simple. Everything else that was said...well...if you read it on the internet it must be true....yes? :p

And to think I just bought a new pitchfork in Elmax...

The only one in the new line up that is unmissable for me is the 0452. I may get others, but it will depend on finding them at a good price. If the 0630 had been a 4+" blade, it would have been on the definite list, but I'm already happy with the 0620 I have, and don't have an uncontrollable need for a minor variation on that.

I don't think it's the pitchforks we're looking for. It's the pictures. ;)

Exactly the point I was making earlier. If you can't get "A" in the quantity you're looking for, wouldn't it make sense to switch to "B" right away in order to keep production going rather than cutting off production altogether . . . particularly in a product that has very high demand?

The 0452CF is the best looking regular production ZT knife I have seen in years. It is an exceptional value with amazing specs. It might be the only knife I purchase this year!

I would love to now what KAI said or did when you sent the blades in, and that's if you even did. Im not bashing you like some other people are doing, so please don't take it as such. I had an elmax blade from another manufacture come with a crack where the thumbstud was pressed in and I sent it back and they replaced it. I love Elmax as a user and have never has any real issues with it and I really like the edge it takes.

S35VN is a fantastic steel and im not mad at all that they are making the switch, especially if it gets knives out faster to us
