New Becker prices!

Man that BK17 is calling my name! I am kind of wishing I had waited to buy a BK17 instead of buying the BK2 this week. Now I will just have to buy the 17 anyway. :P

the green is gone ;)

per Tomar's site:
'''This knife comes with both black and brown Zytel handle sets that are interchangeable, hardware, as well as a heavy duty front pouch Cordura sheath.'''

snerk

I hope they offer a knife option with micarta handle scales INSTEAD of the 2 sets of Zytel handles. If in the future you want to upgrade to the micarta, you then have 2 sets of handles that are useless to you. Might as well cut to the chase and offer a micarta option...just my .02

I think the price is more than reasonable for what you are getting, Knowing what I do about Beckers now. Going to be some leather flying around here when the tweeners make it to my doorstep.

My buddy picked up a 17 with clip point and sheath at the ShotShow, no extra handles but he bought it from the man himself. We chatted with him for a few, very nice guy indeed. I will have to pick up a Machax when they become available.

I think I will have to grab that 15 it looks like Ethan was right, world's best steak knife and for an unbeatable price as such.

I love that people are griping a little about the price.
Everything new costs more, think plasma tvs when they first came out.
These required new machining and programing for all the machines in the factory that are involved in producing them.
They have a MUCH nicer sheath STOCK, aaaand they have a new improved coating and laser etching instead of roll stamping.
Imho they are worth every penny and then some.
Will they be cheaper once they have been in production as long as the other models have been ? What do you think?
I will still buy a 16 now and probably a 17 as well, and if I can get a sabre ground 16 I will do that too.
Years and years of designing and perfecting... I have a feeling these are going to be masterpieces, and the re tooled Machaxe makes me jolly in my pants.

I guess I understand the sticker shock from some angles but as Peter Griffin said..." Come on... Cooome ooooonn "

i double that!

Where's a good ole pre-order when you need it. :) This is just great, well, April is a long time but, still great news.

Any possibility that the tweeners are being released at the same time as the Machax, and that the 4/1 release date is just a cruel April fools joke?

That would be wrong. Oh so wrong. I've been sitting here planning out my buying procedure, and to find out that the Tweeners are actually being released the same time as the Machax would royally screw me up. Buy the Machax first, then I've got a month or so to figure out which of the Tweeners comes first.

Look at it this way. Becker is being thoughtful. They want to make sure that we can save up after the Machax purchase and have toy money for the tweeners. :)

Considering the quality of Becker knives I've purchased, the prices are quite reasonable. Especially considering the 'extras' packaged with these new models.
In fact I'll probably order two of the BK-16 at those prices, one for keeping original and one for modifying.

Am looking forward to a new 14 with some blaze-orange scales.

Going to be getting quite a few of the 16 and 17's as gifts this year, Perfect size for most people.
