NEW Benchmade 7505-131 and 7505-132

I have a question: what exactly does the term 'mid-tech' mean? I've never heard of it. (Middle of the road? Not great but not bad?)
It refers to half way between a custom and a production, from the way the term has been used over the last few years. Think Chris Reeve, Rick Hinderer, etc.
In the case of this particular piece, the hand finishing of the clip, blade, scales, etc and fitting precision make is almost custom in some regards. This looks to be a high precision folder with no cut corners on attention to detail.

Yep, thanks! I have the latest Blade Mag here on my desk and the article about Mid-Tech is very timely. Makes great knives more affordable!

I couldn't agree more. This definitely qualifies for mid tech status in my opinion. Although, I really would have loved to see a regular manual version without the bolster doohickey. Either way, I'm interested in picking up the G10 version.

If you prepayment at. Cutlery shop and put in bm75 in the promocode it goes down to $345 just did it check the code on the page it might change acasionaly

The $1200 version is a high price.I got a rockstead for less and they blow any benchmadeo away.the Japanese are the best knife makers in the world there work ethic is above and beyond ours.if there is something wrong with a product they make it discraces there family so that will never happen.get the $600 version and put in that code and gettem half price on cutlery shoppe

That is highly debatable, you should know that. As far as the best knifemakers in the work goes, it all depends on who you ask. Ask 100 people get 100 different answers. Maybe that was the way it used to be back in the good old days with the Japanese families, but in this day and agqe, it's also very much about money.

That Cutlery shop page is misleading I cut this from their webpage.

Benchmade 7505-132 - Limited Unlimited GOLD CLASS

I think they got gold line and gold class mixed up.

My wallet and I are just praying for a blue or black class version or that I win the lottery and get the gold. Love the new design. I've always thought the 755 was too plump.

I've got a 132 on pre-order. Would really rather the 131, but even discounted it is out of my current range.

Is it possible to have a dual action mechanism with an Axis lock? Ever since I became a Benchmade fan I can't go back to frame/liner locks. Especially one this expensive. Not a fan of Sibert's designs either really, too blocky.

I have heard the term "Gold Line" used by BM quite a bit lately as well as folks at Special Projects.
Not 100% sure what that means at this point in time.
I used to think it was the line of Gold class knives, now I believe its taken on a new meaning / new class of knives?

Looking for the answer on this one.........

Thanks!

Wait.. They have a gold class and a gold line?
I thought they currently had a gold, black and blue class. I didn't know there were two gold class lines.

Yes you can.

I might have started that,I went back and listened to the video again and I think Michael Sinclair (I hope I spelled that correctly) uses gold line and gold class to mean the same thing.
So gold line is gold class.
That is my take on that.

I'm ready to pre-order the 132. I'm just waiting on my CC bill to drop back to zero. I think I confused them by sending in my payment too early. It is due on July 16 and I sent it in full on June 14.

I think they are dragging their feet, because I never pay interest.

Ordered the 7505-132 from "The Cutlery Shoppe". Now the wait.

I pre-ordered through them as well and was told this morning they got a few in stock and one should be on it's way to me tomorrow or Monday.

I got the 7505-131 when it was released but I felt bad carrying it so it mostly just sits in my safe.
