New Benchmades

From what ive seen of 2023s offerings, the prices are through the roof seems like the only half decent deal is the new Spyderco Military 2....

My reaction to the new Benchmades seems to be the same as everyone else's, which is to say, "Wow, those knives look great! Wow, those prices are crazier than a football bat!" When the new Microtech manual folder is cheaper than 80% of your new releases you're pricing me right out.

That is tempting especially in magancut which I would like to try. I have a bugout in s30v and really like it.

Anyone see Benchmades new 2023 releases? Looks pretty good. Otfs, magnacut, aluminum bailouts in a few different colors, double edge fixed blades, and my personal favorite, a new version of the tagged out, but with a thumb stud, G10 instead of FRN, and S45VN steel (instead of CPM-154). I Definitely want to pick this up at some point !
Edit: it is pretty expensive at 270, but it is not like anything else I own…if you’re into Benchmade you should check it out, I’ll try to post up more of the new knives later

This knife looks like the authentic vs WISH.com comparison I watched last night. This looking like the wish.com option.

You’re saying they already have this one ( a tagged out) cloned ? Not surprised 🙄
The prices are a bit wild but I think Benchmade wins “coolest new releases” for 2023. I’m liking the mini Adamas.. the full size cf freek, the cf tagged out. Well, I like just about everything!
I saw that CF tagged out but I was disappointed it didn’t have thumbstuds, which is the same reason I didn’t buy the first one. The thumb hole doesn’t look big enough, and I’m not cool enough to fling it out using the axis lock every time lol

The new Bailout models interest me the most. To be honest I wished Benchmade qould have just expanded their customizable options really. I mean colored scales are available from many places like AWT and SDK. It would have just been nice to have it direct from factory the way you want it.

The prices and direction of Benchmade's 2023 lineup are absurd to me.

$522 for a titanium M390 model with a poor hardness range (58-61 HRC)? $180 for a grivory bugout? Magnacut at 60-62 HRC for extreme prices and only available with coatings? 3V at 57-59 HRC on a $360 fixed blade (this could be a knife center listing error)? And what's with the focus on colors as a selling point?

They also appear to have discontinued the Super Freek, but  blessedly there's a mini super freek for a staggering $240.

I'm so disappointed.

Edited to correct 3V hardness.

Wow I didn’t see the HRC ratings. 55 for 3V and 58 for M390 is waaayyy way too low, that’s what I would expect from a Chinese oem, not Benchmade (especially after the initial bailout complaints about the 3V being so soft) :-(
…hopefully they are sandbagging (for what reason idk), the way the “Big Three” did with horsepower in the 1960s

I really like the narrows, but that price is eye watering! That's Combat Troodon or XM-18 money! Ora Sebenza or ... Over $500 puts it into rarefied company, lotsa good choices up there.

So you can enjoy the same sort of ridiculous overpricing, but with knives mostly made in Asia?
"Asia" 🙄
There is a big difference between Japan, Taiwan and China. I gladly support the first two. The Taiwan and USA knives, top tier, and though I do not use it, the Chinese knives can take 380lbs torque, crazy for a China linerlock.

Times like these, grateful to be a Spyderco fan.

Spyderco has plenty of made in the USA knives for sale. Virtually all of them cheaper then comparable Benchmades. The new redesigned Military 2 with compression lock sells for $196 street versus $522 street for the Benchmade Narrows.
