Who said that?I thought I was a "real knife guy" but I like Benchmade, so I guess I am mistaken. Maybe I just identify as one.
I made a mistake, evidently knife center lists it at 57-59 and I typed the wrong range. The Benchmade catalog lists it at 60-62, so I'm hoping this was an error as well.Wow I didn’t see the HRC ratings. 55 for 3V and 58 for M390 is waaayyy way too low, that’s what I would expect from a Chinese oem, not Benchmade (especially after the initial bailout complaints about the 3V being so soft) :-(
…hopefully they are sandbagging (for what reason idk), the way the “Big Three” did with horsepower in the 1960s
LOL, the base model Bugout is $180 nowadays. No way a brand new full TI model is coming out of Benchmade for less that $400-500.
Looks unfinished..
Not very competitive at all then. You think this is $200 better than a 0562ti ? That’s absurd, hell it’s $100 more than a HindererLOL, the base model Bugout is $180 nowadays. No way a brand new full TI model is coming out of Benchmade for less that $400-500.
No question there are definitely better deals out there. But Benchmade knows their market. This knife will have one for sure. While I think it's a huge ask for the price, I'm definitely tempted. Though the forthcoming Tactile Knives Maverick definitely beats this one for me, on price and design. That's the purchase I'm looking towards this year. Not very competitive at all then. Yes, that Maverick looks sweet! I’ve been wanting to try a TRM Newtron 2 also, they look good in full ti, plus I found out TRM is in my home state. No question there are definitely better deals out there. The base Bugout is 162 everywhere and was recently on sale for $135.LOL, the base model Bugout is $180 nowadays. No way a brand new full TI model is coming out of Benchmade for less that $400-500.
I’m talking about MSRP, not street prices. The base Bugout is 162 everywhere and was recently on sale for $135.
TRM is a great company, lived the Neutron and the Atom. Either of them in full TI would be a great carry.Yes, that Maverick looks sweet! I’ve been wanting to try a TRM Newtron 2 also, they look good in full ti, plus I found out TRM is in my home state.
The fetish for thinness has really hurt the design of "smart" phones.
I love my Bugouts, but I find the handles slightly too thin at 0.41 inches. The Griptilian handle at 0.64 inches is slightly too thick. The sweet spot is 0.50 to 0.60 inches.
A Narrows at 0.28 inches? No thanks.
Handle thickness
0.26 Bradford G-Necker (skeletonized fixed blade, no scales; for comparison; the knives below are all Benchmades)
0.28 Narrows
0.41 Bugout, Mini Bugout, Bailout
0.43 Osborne, Mini Osborne
0.49 Taggedout
0.50 Full Immunity
0.51 SOCP, Mini Griptilian
0.52 Mediator
0.55 Mini Freek
0.59 Casbah
0.60 Grizzly Creek, Claymore
0.63 Mini Adamas, Presidio II
0.64 Griptilian
0.65 Adamas
Two lanyards and chain to make sure it don't get lost from your pocket lolWhatever Benchmade is smoking in Oregon must be the good stuff.
$522 for that is laughable.
I understand your curiosity, but I would not buy a Narrows even at half price.I can’t help it, though. I want to try out something that thin, and see how they’ve re-engineered the axis lock with a torsion spring. Here’s hoping some dealers will be selling it lower, the whole “please call for price” approach.![]()
