New BK 10 owners, what do you think? Share!

Haha, nice try.

You know I dont have any camillus blades. Check the pic you know I took it.

Sweet nick. Its about time. I thought the germans and the troops were gona get it before you. Hell I thought jarod would have to ship his back stateside so you could start working on sheaths while you waited for yours to show up :D

I was starting to think the same thing. :D

Ha! It takes a month for any knife I ship to reach blessed soil.

These blades are uncoated correct.
Never used a knife with a patina, how well does it prevent rust.
I am a little concerned, I hate rust.
I know you can keep the blade oiled, but what about the metal under the handles.
Any help or useful suggestions would be appreciated.
thanks.

keep the blade from water and dried off, use mineral oil or other lubricant while stored in a sheath

still holding out to see if i can score one when it goes public. i've seen some comments on the handle scales and fit and finish. are they flush with the handle steel? saw one or two pics buried in all these posts where it looked like the steel was higher than the grivory handle. could've been the angle the shot was taken from though. just curious as i really prefer nice flush handle scales/handle steel. can always sand down the scales i know and/or grind the steel i guess....??

Beestokk, the Camillus grivory is shyte, but Kabar wanted to make sure everyone had an original set, to go along with the Kabar Micarta. I had to take some of my micarta down, but imagine they would fit flush with paint on the blade. My Kabar Grivory fits like a champ, no complaints here, but the Camillus specs were slightly different that what Kabar is doing, so you might see some small overlap of the handles, but not the metal.

thanks gents. and moose, i hope you were joking about a dealer snatching up all the leftovers when it goes public...if not, damn capitalism haha.

After days of waiting, my BK10 (KaBar ver.) arrived today complete with a bell and a whistle. And since I am not the first to receive theirs, it becomes a matter of how much in agreement I am with previous recipient/ responders able to compare BK10 ver1 and BK10 ver.2. I like the SW finish, I agree w/ those preferring the grind and swedge of the KaBar version. I am leaning toward leaving the Grivory on it.

Just pulled in after a couple of very stressful days and found my BK10 laying on the porch. Just what I needed. It's an awesome thing to finally get to hold one. I don't think I can bear to mod it (at least not for a while, but don't bet against it). It fit's perfectly in the Spec Ops that Arkanian so thoughtfully sent me. Thanks again Ark, thanks to Ka-bar for doing it, and thanks to the best mods anywhere on the interwebz for making it happen. Great knife.

Will post pics asap.

Thats bull trade....you said you were going to choil choil choil.....I wanna see some pics up in the mod thread!

So I get home from China last night. 21 hours of travel because I had to fly into Newark and then from Newark to Phoenix. Wife brings me home at 11pm. We crack beers and sit to catch up, and there's a brown cardboard box sitting on the chair by the front door, but Wife wants to chat. An hour goes by. An hour and a half goes by.

FINALLY she gets tired and heads off to bed. Saying I was somewhat tired at that point would be a criminal understatement. But do I go to bed too? HELLS NO. I get down to my man cave with cardboard box in hand, fish out my phat bob which hasn't felt my warm embrace for a week, and open up my brand new toy.

Oh baby.

I swish it around enthusiastically for about five minutes and then the lights start to dim inside my skull, and I put it away and get to bed as fast as I can.

It's finally mine. Thanks KABAR! Thanks Toooj! Thanks Becker, and our right honorable mods. What a fantastic new tool.

I love it.

Yeah, after playing with the 10 the past few nights, it will be replacing my 2 as my hip blade.
I think that comment just made me an adulterer.

I really love this blade. I don't know what youz ramp haters are talking bout. :-)

Seriously, If I'm brave enough I would put a choil on it and it would be perfect. Serious.

It's bravo time...

Bells, compass, whistles, extra scales (lighter color and mine had much leftover material from being shaped/sanded. Wonder if they cut these up just for these babies??) special pricing, excellent knowledge and service...Toooooooooj!

Bravo Ka-Bar!

Bladite, Moose and Guyon. You guys rock this place. That is all.

Bravo MODS!

Bravo Mr. Ethan Becker!!!

Bravo fellow BeckerHeads (and those in process)

*end bravo time*

Love it.
