New BK14/Eskabar is bent, as is the replacement

Just got my 14 from amazon and its straight as an arrow. Sucks that there are some bent ones out there

I will say this, guys, if any of you are unhappy with your BKT knife, contact Kabar, and I assure you, you will be make happy with your purchase.

I'm unhappy my BK77 is alone, the order should have come with 2!

So I decided to suspended the knife between two stacks of magazines. I had the handle and blade pretty much fully supported with a few inch gap around the logo. Applying full body weight with my heel on the logo made the bend ever so slightly better, but after about ten minutes of messing with it the knife was still bent.

Holy crap - are you *trying* for a trip to the ER? Seems like a pretty bad idea, man.

I have 2 Bk-14 inbound in the mail and now I am seriously stressed !
:(

Got mine out of Vancouver and it was as straight and hard as a 14 year old on net porn. don't worry man, if they are gimped, which is not likely, Ka-Bar will do right by you.

Now that I see what I did in writing I have to agree it sounds like a bad idea. Guess I got lucky. :o

I have edited my original post and pointed folks to a better solution lest someone try to replicate what I did.

I have a 14 and now have to go look for a bend!! LOL!
Any BK14 fans try the new ZK Acheron - I have one on the way...wondering about it.

My bends were so slight, i had to put them on the countertop, at night, with the lights off, & use a light on the opposite side of the blade. Then i could see light coming through from underneath. Handles were perfectly flat though. Does it kinda suck---yup. Will it affect its use---not at all. It's all good.

haven't checked for issues with mine, other than they seem to be made of gold or something.

Ok, I talked with Kabar today. If you have a bent blade, contact Kabar, and send it ATTN: Paul Tsujimoto. There was a brief run that made it out with a slight bend. Toooj says he'll take care of ya'll.

Just in the interest of completing this thread, I did end up shipping back the BK14 today to Tooj. I'm sure he'll take care of me.

Though I have to say I'm not happy about having to pay return shipping to Kabar to get this problem solved, when I was sent not one but two defective knives.... grumble grumble. Ah well.

How much was shipping? I'll reimburse you for it. Lets just hope you didn't send it express overnight early AM delivery, that could wind up costing me quite a bit.

Wow, thanks for the offer! (Do you work for Kabar?) I believe amazon.com is going to reimburse me for the return shipping. If they do not I will let you know.

I know it sucks to wait, but again, send it to Toooj and you will be taken care of. Best customer service in the world!
