New BK14/Eskabar is bent, as is the replacement

wow that is really personalized service from a great company.

Just got a bk14 in the mail from Amazon and sure enough...it's bent. Not to mention the box was beat to hell, the paracord was used, and the bag that the sheath came in was already opened and torn. Really bothersome because I tend to be anal about these things and this is my first investment in a Becker. But now I'm just contemplating whether the shipping cost is worth the bent knife.

Ahmukilu, this is similar to my experience.... amazon will cover return shipping, but there is the risk of getting a bent blade again. If you send the knife back to Kabar, they will definitely take care of you, though shipping is an out-of-pocket expense. At the end of the day I'm very glad I sent it to Kabar, I feel great about their customer service.

Just ordered a BK14 from Tomar's for my dad's birthday...hope it's not bent. It seems to be a mainly amazon thing?

i noticed my BK9 was bent. doubt it will effect anything so i dont care about it that much.

JWL: Did you have to address the package in a different way for your replacement or do you still address it to the returns?

Contact amazon and let them know you have a defective product. They will issue a prepaid mailing label to you.

I sent mine to Kabar, ATTN: Paul Tsujimoto. I'd also nclude a note explaining the issue, and mention this thread on bladeforums.
