New BK14/Eskabar is bent, as is the replacement

Tracking system says Kabar got my knife return yesterday at 10am. No word from Kabar yet, but most likely a new Eskabar is or will shortly be on its way to me.... will update.
 
I feel like buying a 14 just so I can possibly send a package that Tooj will open. Let's send him bells and whistles and love poems and pictures of puppies that say we love TOOJ.
 
I was planning to buy another 14, but I think I'll wait a bit until this batch has run out and been taken care of. I feel sorry for you guys that got bent knives, the 14 was my first Becker, and is still probably my favorite knife.

In fairness to Becker, you are probably good to go Haze. Only a few knives were bent, all came from amazon.com, and people have since reported knives from amazon that were fine. I understand wanting to wait, though....

I think soon Ii will be sending him, Moose and Ethan a sweet package with an American Flag and picture of my unit!

Got your knife. I wrote up the order, went to the warehouse and found a straight one for you. It should be working it's way to you.

And my replacement came today. Sure enough, it's straight. :-D

And the lagniappe is really really cute. My wife immediately said she wanted it so now it's hers.

For posterity's sake, here is my BK14, with which I am immensely happy:



Detachable paracord neck strap, modified strider paracord wrap, and a new convex edge. All paracord is Foliage Green, except a bit of black on the sheath.

Was this short run of defective blades confined to the BK14, or might other models have slipped by unnoticed as well?
 
As far as I know it was just the BK14, but then I don't work for Kabar.... no stories of other knives where this happened, only the BK14 that I know of.

Thanks... I never know when I'll see something with the uncanny ability to remove my bank card from my wallet, so if there were issues across an entire product line, I wanted to know that in advance. Happy to hear it was minor and restricted to only a small sample of blades.

As far as I know, the BK14's are the only ones to suffer this particular issue, and only a short run of them.
