New BK2 and now I go under a surgeons knife.

I snuck by BK2 into the hospital with me. I figured it was there when I was injured, so it can be here while I receive treatment.

I might have a problem. LOL

god help you if some lady finds it and raises a ruckus

good luck man!

It was actually in the bottom of one of my backpacks. My wife used my swedish waterproof military bag to bring me some reading material, toiletries, clothes and what not. It only has the pain duffel like section and one large pocket on the front. This makes it easier to search with one hand. I found this little gem hiding under my clothes. It was still in there from when I was out in the woods this week.

Hope you get well soon, buddy. If by any chance they dope you up with painkillers at some point, don't be afraid to jump on the forums and attempt some postin' :) My kids still laugh uproariously at the stuff I did and said last year when I was doped out of my mind after a procedure I had done.

They admitted you for a freaking thorn in your finger? I bet the hospital smells a good insurance payer. Sure hope your feeling better soon though

Admitted me and kept me for two days of IV antibiotics. I still have the thorn in my finger. Go figure

Why does my 2 look smaller than everyone elses? It must have been cold in the hospital, shrinkage and all that.

I got lucky with my lesson on chopping safety.
I was holding a small log with my left hand and chopping with my right.
Brought the knife in at too sharp an angle. It glanced off and went right into my hand.
The lucky part is that I just hit skin and a bony knuckle. Missed the more important parts.
A little bit of superglue, and I was good to go.

Lessons learned though: Get the left hand out of the way, and keep the angle steeper.

it's also good to have a timex to clamp the blood flow down when you sever some phalanges :)

usually, the holding hand is the one that takes some damage, i've found.

thorns. damn things.

fire these doctors, and find a hand specialist and get this done.

heal well.

My orthopedic surgeon came highly recommended from some EMT, nurse and a SWAT EMT friend. The surgeon is afraid that cutting it out right now would do more damage than leaving it in. I follow up with him next wednesday. The upside is that I have enough pus leaking out that I think I could lube my chainsaws with it,

That is disgusting. We of course need to see pics of this.

why don't you cut it out yourself? you could cut around it a tiny bit with an exacto knife and then use some tweezers or small pliers to grab onto it and pull.
