any reapers or 715s at the walmarts you checked....just curious what they are stocking buck wise besides maybe the 110 with nylon sheath.

For some reason I did not even think about one of those holes becoming a lanyard pass through. The scales are not glued down and are actually stabilized with some type of epoxy backing which makes me hope it will help them remain more durable over the life of the knife.

Wonder why Buck didn't just make the lanyard hole themselves?

I imagine this decision comes down to the fact that the knife is an exclusive sprint run for Walmart that sounds like it was dreamed up and produced in less than 9 months. Perhaps we'll see a 2017 model with a leather sheath and lanyard hole upgrades if this knife remains as popular as it seems to be considering it's hard to find a month after the release date.

The Endeavor does have the lanyard holes on the nylon scaled model...

Bumping an old thread..
I just purchased a Mesa from Walmart on sale for $20! I'm pretty impressed with the quality and would have happily paid triple than what I did. I suspect this will do a great job on complimenting my Moras for hiking, camping, general outdoor use.
 
Damn, $20 is a steal. They have a few at my local WM and I think I may pick one up tomorrow.
 
Clearanced at my local store. I went in to get one last night and they were all gone. I'm sad. Was going to buy one last week and sporting goods manager told me they were getting ready to clear them out. Wish I had just paid the full price! He said they lasted less than hour at $20

now probably on Ebay at 60 bucks or so..........
