New Buck Mesa, wow!

Just picked one up last week. I didn't really care for the nylon sheath of the Endeavor but the sheath that comes with the Mesa sold the knife for me. The grind and the angles of the bevel are the worst of all my Bucks but that being said it cuts pretty well. I really like the micarta scales, they grip well and they kinda have a VZ g10 kinda look. Great knife.

Now, to find one in my neck of the woods...........
May try the ship to store if I can find it on their site. (can't find it on their site so that option is out)

havent found one yet in my local walmart stores, but the stores around here are terrible and only stock what the regulars buy and it aint knives sadly. might have to travel down to that ocoee one i heard might have them.

FYI mt dora didn't have any.

I talked to a Lady at Buck yesterday about the Mesa and she confirmed it is a WM exclusive. Therefore it won't be on the Buck website. She explained that it is " basicly " a P/E version of the Endeavor. I like it !

The Endeavor has a different blade finish, molded nylon handles and nylon sheath and a partial S/E.

yep, this mesa is the knife the endeavor should have been, imho. whoever had the foresight to make those changes was thinking very well, and i appreciate the effort it took by whomever to get it made and in some stores at a decent price point for us.

I think it means "Plain Edge"

Yes that was my thoughts exactly. The WM exclusive Mesa version has better handles, and the sheath is outstanding !

I found two at the local WM, they now have one. The knife overall is quite nice for the price, sheath is growing on me, grinds were fair but the scales had real issues. The scales themselves needed a good amount of attention to get a proper fit, with scales were not flush and you could see a lot of light under them on both sides. When the scales were drilled, a lot of left over material was clinging to the holes in the micarta and when the scales were put on, the excess material prevented them from sitting flush. i removed the scales, cleaned up the excess material & sanded flush. After a few minutes of work the scale fit is 100%. The scales were actually so off kilter the right one rocked back and forth. Being sold in the clam packs you can not see these potential issues. Anyway it is all corrected and makes for a nice little do everything knife, I just wish they were checked prior to shipping. That little extra attention to obvious detail, would have made me a much more happy customer.
