New Buck Strider

I want a video of Goose playing mumbly peg barefoot in the house (post 78)

Sirusly, glad to hear your newest 889LE passes muster. And I appreciate when you call a spade a spade. A new knife, especially a LE or custom shop, should not have any issues out of the box.

No...no box openeng video
It was ONE clean sweep with a 889SBMF...my camera isn't fast enough and would have missed that ninja-like move. :)

Mumbly peg incident avoided on this one Messy...so far.

Pic of the first one, second one, and a 110 for scale comparison.
Note that the 889LE knives are ironwood while the 110 is Hawaiian Koa.
Will take a better pic later.

Those are Sweet Goose,

How come the pivot on the 889LE are different? Is one put back together backwards??? and how was the second one as compared to the first out of the box....fit, finish, functioning?????

Haven't read every post in this thread. so many pages, not enough time. just want to say, I have the Buck Strider collaboration with ATS-34 and G-10 handle. Never had an interest in tactical knives until I got this one. Can't get enough. Great knife. Seems bulletproof!

They are sweet looking 889's. They no longer look tactical with the mirror polish and ironwood scales.

JB, I think the different looking pivots are a photo illusion.

Buck Forum.... the place for my daily dose of knife knowledge and off beat humor.... even ruckwarts or in Dave language... :p

Hey John...
Yeah, I think I put it back together backwards. When I reassembled it, I used the 889SBMF as a point of reference for the torx. And, I have never taken apart the SBMF.
BUT, when I looked around on the web today, I see that the LE has pics of it with the torx on either side. So, I'm not certain if it matters....but it bugs me. I may put 'em all on the same side as the newer one (bottom), but now I can't find my micro tools.

As for the form/fit/function of the one just received. No problems. No cracks in the ironwood. Better looking wood. Smooth action. But for EDC, I am using the older one (middle) for EDC as it has the little notch on the bottom of the blade for the liner lock to rest in. Seems more secure.
The newer one doesn't have that.

Mike, yesss Sir!!! dyslexic = legasthenisch.

Hühnchen, what did you want to say with that word?

Rotwildmann 110 then !

Well then, my wife, my son and my li'l doughter are not able to speak anything since they read what you wrote.

Wenn ihr wüsstet, was für einen gequirlten Unsinn ihr da schreibt. It is too funny. :D Hühnchenspur, Gans, Rotwildmann 110, I love you!! Now I've to pic a Kleenex to blow my nose and to dry my eyes cause the tears of joy. Oh Quell meiner Freuden. I don't know what to do if the BF closes one day.

My very best regards, und, liebe Leute, go on, weiter so!!! let's have fun.

yes machine translation is funny most the time!
many things jest dont translate ...
for example Howdy = hello
but it was a short form of - "how do you do" ?
also germand is laid out diffrently. many words
combined - messer is a good one - it has many words before or after that give you more information
and most of them i jest dont quite get as i am sure some of it is context.

my daughter studyed germand a year and i dare not ask her now what any thing means as she has forgoten so much from not useing it.
as she put it no one to talk to useing it!

i hope my friend you daughter is as well amused as you are!
great to have lafter in todays world
tell her i said Howdy! :D

Howdy Dave,

thanks for your Answer. It's a pity, that your doughter doesn't practice the German. It is a very polymorpic language. And the possibility to couple words gives more details. Another example: we have two words for "the same". Many Germans mistake them: "dasselbe" (without a blank) und "das gleiche". One means the same and the other means that it looks like the same - and so on.

I'll tell your greeting to Nele. And you are right, it is nice if you have anything to lough.

Take care, Dave,
Haebbie

And for the Topic: I dont like Strider Knives.
