New Case Swayback

The wharncliffe blade in the seahorse whittler is much thicker that the sway back jack. They can't get the thicker steel in rolls which is what they have to have to blank it out.

Thanks, Tony! It's always nice to know there really is a reason.

For what it's worth, the Bermuda Green ones DO have swedges, and they're beautifully done.

Er, um... It depends on the individual knife. They are all supposed to have them. It comes down to whether the cutler tending the grinder that day was capable or cared enough to do it well. Who knows? Maybe mine got polished off during final prep.

Sam, you are not alone here, my Bermuda Green knife has no swedges on it either-at least none I can see with a 10x magnifying glass:eek:

I think somebody from CASE should explain this anomaly.......

Sounds like their hedgin' on the swedgin'!

I got this one in the mail this weekend. I have to say, the fit and finish of this knife is the best I have seen from Case in a while! The backspring is flush in all positions and it does have a swedge. The jigging on the blue bone is also pretty nice. I think this one should make a nice carry knife.

jd elam, I have that very same knife. Mine is like you explained. The only problem I have with mine is the center pin and the bottom pin. The spun heads on them are way to large. They look like Moon Disk wheel covers. If you remember those don't forget to take your Hadacol.

I remember the baby moons :)

I remember Moon's (but heck I'm only 55) and don't even know what Hadacol is!

Baby Moons I remember Long before Full Moons. Elliott you better find you some of that Hadacol. It will let you catch up!!

I think that's what I'm afraid of! :D

A tiny bit of hydrochloric acid to help unclog the old arteries never hurt a thing...goodbye Crestor :)

I remember the Baby Moons on '55 Chevys (I'm 57) that prowled the local DQ.
