New Case Swayback

I got this one in the mail this weekend. I have to say, the fit and finish of this knife is the best I have seen from Case in a while! The backspring is flush in all positions and it does have a swedge. The jigging on the blue bone is also pretty nice. I think this one should make a nice carry knife.

I like the looks, the red badge is nifty. Is that a single blade model? Is it the same size (blade length) as the two bladed model?

Yes, it is the single blade version. Same size as the two blade, but much thinner.

Have to check out one of those,
loved that video, showed my wife as it was
hard to explain Tony's shop when I was there
a while back.
Tony has some of the neatest sayings you'll ever hear,
'boots on a rooster'

I've had this stag swayback jack now for almost a month. It's a great knife. It feels good in the hand, has perfect snap to the blades, half-stops, great pocket size, etc. I'm carrying it this whole weekend. :)

Nice knife there, would you email me where you picked that one up?
Thanks, I tried your email but you don't have one listed.

Hi Gary,

Mail sent and I turned on the ability to receive email from members which apparently was off for some reason.

Well, having now read the entire thread, it looks like there will not be a special run of it in CV. I think I will have to get the SS/stag one. Where is the best place to get one?

I just picked one of these up at the P.O.
I'm freakin' blown away by this swayback !

Wow, which one did you get? Is this Case really a cut above the rest of the Cases? How does it compare with your custom SBJ's ? Thanks

God Bless

Actually, if you read the whole thread, I believe you will find that they may very well be planning a run, they just won't admit it, or give anyone a timetable...

Shepherd Hills Cutlery is where I got mine. Search for "sway back jack".

KWL,
I bought the green bone 2 blader.
As far as it comparing to any custom swaybacks I have/had,I won't go there, thats apples & oranges
But of some of the Case pocketknives ,you know, newer made ones,it was way better than what I was expecting.A friend told me they were really well done & I checked it out myself, who knows, maybe I got a really good one,but I am pleased with what I see & I'll probably get another

Sounds nice Vince, need photos! a shot down onto the edge would be handy
to see how thin they ground it down, a lot of the knives have such thick edges
that it's hard to really cut stuff with them,

That's fair enough. Customs are customs for good reason.

I was skeptical about how "good" can Cases get, especially compared the the new productions which is already "really good" for Case. But the reports seem to be consistent in that the SBJs are "that good". I was holding out for another handle material. I just hope that the run on their superb F&F won't run out of steam. Keep us posted on this knife does.

God Bless

A friend told me today that Case will offer a swayback jack in CV with Chestnut bone scales this year.
