New Cold Steel Knives at SHOT Show

The CTS XHP steel caught my eye, but didn't see anything that actually lists that steel. Then looked at past catalogs, and they never removed it from the list, even though they stopped using it years ago.🤷‍♂️
The last use was in 2021 catalog but only for the serrated Tiger Claw, which I think is the last knife to use it… but yes other than that I guess they left it on the chart to make it look more balanced(?) lol
I’m not seeing anything in XHP either for 2022

Didn't see the "Mayhem" in the '22 catalog ?

Ditto the old Thai Machete . May have to get a backup for mine if that's disco'd .

On the other hand , I might just be not seeing what's there .

Did see a whole lot of 4116 and 4034 . Hope that works better than I fear on the BAK .

Because it is vaporware. I think the Stickman said it was a prototype.

Yeah, dunno about charging more than $100 for a knife made of 4034SS.
GSM is basically betting CS reputation on the performance of their special HT 4034 , IMO .

I guess we'll see . 🤷‍♂️

I've always gone for sub $50 knives, and I'm grateful CS made things in 1055, 4116, SK-5, etc. So I don't object to 4034 per se. The 4034 bowies are going for $200 and I bet the Warcraft tantos are over $100. For that amount I expect something better.

I expect we'll eventually see some videos with the new BA 4034 choppers being put to severe hard use "proof testing " .

I'll reserve my judgement in favor of real world results .

I'm with you, Doc, the proof will be in the pudding. If they don't cut the mustard, they will be roasted mercilessly.

Did you guys watch that new video just posted about the new lock? Oooof. Their new spokesman doesn't really make me want to buy, quite frankly. But, then again, LT is a tough act to follow. Still, at the risk of sounding like a broken record, why not get a knife guy for that job???

From the way some of the GSM videos were scripted , with newbie Stickman being educated /trained in the way of the knife by old master LCT , I tend to think it was planned that way . A coming of age story , initiation into bladed manhood . :p LTC even passed the baton by presenting Sticky with a proper CS Big Stick .

All very symbolic . Advertising is manipulation , often targeted at an unconscious/emotional level .

I think it's also probably just easier to sell that new crap, innocently straight faced , if you really aren't aware of the fact . o_O

The manipulation through advertising doesn't seem to have been very successful anyway 😀.

One thing that strikes me about the catalog is that there are these FGX versions of some knives that have already been discontinued.

I am concerned that for some strange reason CS will reorient towards 3" or 3.5" blades in the future. I hope I'm wrong. I'm also not thrilled with the Atlas lock. Luckily I have several Old Steel knives still new in the box and they will even survive me.

Enjoyed the video immensely. Sure got my eye on the AD-10 Recon with that tanto style blade. Looks awesome. Needing at third EDC for the collection.

Interested in AD10 Lite but not tanto and something with atlas lock other than 1.4116 ;-)

The bench sharpener is like half a Wicked Edge?

I don't like the new designs of the Warcraft —I am really glad that I bought two of the previous 3V versions.

I like the Atlas Lock, but don't like the new knives they are featured on.

The Verdict line looks good.

I haven't decided what I will get from the 2022 line-up yet though.
