That thing is not going to wave very well. The spine obstructs the plate.

Dunno how I feel about that handle design (it certainly looks ergonomic though!) from an aesthetic point of view, but I love that blade shape. I love leaf blades. The clip looks good, too. The knife on the whole has a very custom look to it. No doubt it'll be a top shelf quality performer.

Good lord. Incredibly broad blade with what sure looks like a FFG. Could be one mother of a slicer. It's all gonna come down to size on that one. I'm hoping at or around 4" of blade, though I might have to get Charlie Mike to de-hump the spine and make the point a little more acute.

I wish the flanged mace was short like the polish mace. Ill probably still get one....

woah i wonder how big that is.. Handle looks like Rajah 3, hopefully there is a version similar to Rajah 3 but unlikely judging from the name......
Blade HQ instagram says 4" blade and 10" overall.

I consider them useless because they are designed and sold as weapons in a world where any joe on the street can get a gun. Actual HEMA practitioners and fencers really aren't actually that big a market, and most of the Cold Steel stuff is a lot more likely to be bought by people like me, ie, people who like them cause they're fun to own, rather than because they serve an actual purpose. Also, on that topic, many of Cold Steel's swords(including the one I own) are notably heavier than the historical swords they are meant to represent-if you look at HEMA forums, you'll find generally speaking, the Cold Steel weapons are NOT highly regarded. The general consensus is "it will be okay until you can save up for something better". But for me, a $600 sword isn't any more useful than a $250 sword, so I buy the Cold Steel. Am I ever going to use my Scottish Broadsword in battle? No, no I'm not. Not like I'm gonna be walking around with a sword at my waist, and if I think someone is breaking into my house and I run to grab a weapon...I'm not running to grab the sword, I'm running for the 12 gauge. Likewise, the vast majority of people aren't gonna be cutting or stabbing anything with the historical swords and daggers outside of water/soda bottles, watermelons, or hunks of meat in their backwards. To me, that makes them fun, and I own some of it myself, but still pretty much useless.
By that token, more than one knife is useless. To each his own. Regardless, if there is a market to be served, a good businessman is going to go out and get his money.

By that token, more than one knife is useless.

You confuse useless and unnecessary. If you have 20 different knives you rotate for EDC, all of them are useful, though 19 of them are unnecessary(or redundant, take your pick). And of course, having more than 1 knife isn't automatically unnecessary, either. Like, you may have a "public friendly" EDC knife(such as an SAK) if your usual crowd is worried about that sort of thing, while also carrying a larger and/or more "aggressive" knife for potential self defense usage. Then you may have a fixed blade knife for hunting, possibly a large "chopper" type knife for camping....depends on what you do, really. But yes, buying 200 knives like most of us do is indeed unnecessary. However, some people buy only useful items, even if they are unnecessarily and redundant(like getting an Endura or Delica in every color for example), while others of us like me or anyone else who owns a Cold Steel sword are fine on buying things that actually serve no useful function(even with just one of them).

Not even sword canes...which Cold Steel puts out the best values in, and are as fully functional as the best of the best.

I disagree with the swords not serving any purpose. For some they do.

The shape of Colossus blade reminds me of the old, traditional elephant's toe knife! It's a "tactical" elephant's toe with a nice pocket clip and it would look great with Veff serrations!

The polypro cricket bat! I said I wanted one about a year ago in one of those "Products You Want" threads, and it is finally coming! Now I just need some Guinness and a few zombies.

What purpose does a Scottish Broadsword serve, other than as a wall hanger? Or a Colichemarde? Or Shamshir? You can't carry it for self defense(are there ANY states that still allow carry of swords?), it costs more than a shotgun but is much less effective as a home defense weapon, and HEMA practitioners don't like them cause they're much heavier than real Scottish broadswords. It's cool to have, but is there any real, useful purpose it serves other than coolness factor? I mean I shelled out ~$250 for one, but I sure can't think of any actual use for it other than saying "hey look laddie, I have a Scottish style sword!". I like having one(in fact, I'm very hesitant to spend $200+ on 1 blade, and the CS sword is the ONLY blade I have in that price range other than my TFW swords) but it's still not useful, I knew that when I bought it.

As a side note, I'm surprised nobody has commented on the Collossus being available with both a plain AND a black finish...maybe we'll start getting a finish option like that with other knives?

Better shot of the black version. I'm usually a nekkid blade guy, but I think I actually prefer black on this particular knife.
