New Cooper Cutlery knives?

ok- a diver blade. should have researched first. older queen models look somewhat similar. learn something new every day.

I have been sticking with them. I had a long post earlier about how I felt. I love my GEC's, always will and continue to support them. But I want to support Cooper's efforts. They're new at it, I'm trying to weigh that in. I have a Big Chief coming. I hear they are pretty well put together. I should know in a few days. The last two I got of their's were Schatts and I see a noticeable improvement. Also some new traditionals coming. I'll see how they measure up to the last two I recieved. Just my 2 cents.

Isn't the Big Chief name owned by SMKW now? They are listing the Big Chief under the Queen Cutlery name......and as being made in China....
I just tried to message you. Said I can't message to this recipient? Dunno. Can you message me and I'll see if I can respond.

I loved the wormgrove (or something similar) covers the original company used to make - I hope they bring them
back

I simply dislike the look of those 'latest' offerings. Does not remind me of Queen Cutlery or Schatt in anyway.

I get a vibe off this that has a distinct lack of authenticity.....
If you are referring to the Big Chief, it looks just like the Big Chief knife made by Queen years ago.....

Hardly the most glorious Queen knife the BC nor their finest hour: ugly looking, aloy handles. Anyway, the talk of domestic & imported parts 'assembled' in the USA and a surprisingly low price generates my cynicism.

The Weed knives were basically weird, absurd. Not very good quality from the looks of them, not good-looking and yet expensive and aspiring to be a GEC competitor o_O Now it looks like they're tackling the bargain basement end. If people like them, find them great in use that's the main point but I remain unmoved.

Thanks, Will

I got 3 in the mail today. I have to say, they are improving! Two of the three still have some edge symmetry issues, but improved from last ones I got, the other was perfect. Shield fit is excellent although one you can see the pin. At least they are pinned shields. Cover to bolster fit is perfect. Still some gapping of the cover vs liners but no more than most of my Case knives. One of the 2 bladed knives has a very slight proud spring but all perfect at the open. Most are snappy, a couple of the blades are weak at the close but I think it's probably something a good flush might take care of. Curious to see how they do in the future.

I just got a shipping confirmation on the Big Chief, my first from Cooper. It was the only model available on their site, otherwise I might have picked a different model. The price was right enough that it doesn’t feel like a big risk to dip my toe in and see the F&F.

Definitely some patterns I'd be interested in if they get QC dialed in. Always loved the Queen #06 and #48

Since Cooper sold the Queen/Queen City brands/trade marks to SMKW, he can't make a Queen/Queen City branded knife unless he bought the names back, or they are a contract knife.
Cooper can of course make an identical knife and brand it with one or more of the brands/trade marks he does own.

I ordered a Big Chief a few days ago, we’ll see how it is. Not too bad of a gamble, below $30

Gotcha, makes sense. I was under the assumption Cooper still has the equipment itself, I'd be OK with a Cooper teardrop jack if it feels like the Queens did

I just feel I should share this. In famous Chinese express website I had spotted a store that sold bootleg Frost Cutlery (and their other brands like Steel Warrior etc.) knives. I don't know if they actually make them for Frost, or they just copied from the actual OEM. Today I looked into that store, and guess what I've found?

They sell them around 80 bucks or so (can't tell for sure because it automatically converts to my country's currency).

What do you all think, folks? Are those just fakes? Or...
