Interesting new offering from CRKT. Quick spec rundown, the Hi Jinx is going to be made by Lionsteel for CRKT, it is a titanium frame lock with a 3.32" blade of Sleipner steel that runs on caged IKBS bearings and has on OAL of 8". Now here is the downside for me.... 6.4 oz!!! I applaud CRKT's efforts here, it is a beautiful knife for sure, but way too heavy for me. Interested to hear others thoughts... It has a slight resemblance to the ZT 770 I think.

Check out Edgeobservers wonderful video!

It looks sweet.
I don't mind much on weight. I love my 566, which is quite heavy as well. I really love that they upgraded the blade steel. and the handle looks like its comfortable. CRKT usually does pretty good with their flippers, so it looks like a winner if the price is reasonable.

Edit: Price might keep me away form this one. Time will tell. MSRP of $500, might be too high starting price to get down to a good street price. (for my budget at least)

Grrrr. Schweet.

Expensive, though. I could have one of my grails for that price.

How low do you think the street price will be?

The MSRP is the killer. People won't really buy a CRKT for that much. Even if it is done by LionSteel, CRKT isn't associated with premium. Also, that blade looks like a reground prybar!

If they made it cheaper, I would be down for it. The design is cool, but not at that price.

A CRKT with decent steel and not made in China, I like that! I might get one just to put my money where my mouth is since I always complain about the blade steels CRKT uses.

Hopefully, this means we'll be seeing more caged bearings from CRKT in the future.

I hope so. Maybe a rerelease of all IKBS models in caged! That is the only thing stopping me from living like a crackhead that buys knives instead of crack. I will not buy a standard IKBS because I tinker with my knives too much.

CRKT knives never sell for anything close to MSRP. Depending on who is selling the knife, the price is closer to 50% - 60% of MSRP. That would put the actual street price at around $300 (less in some places) which is pretty close to what RamZar said that BHQ's price will be.

This is another effort by CRKT to move into more premium offerings. Folks who have been watching CRKT over the years know that their newer offereings have been of much higher quality than those they presented in the past. Knives like this one are a natural move in that direction and with better knives will come higher prices. That doesn't mean that CRKT won't still deliver budget knives, but they are expanding their line to provide more (and better) choices.

I will likely buy one.

Too big, too heavy, and too expensive even at $325. But I give it an "E" for effort. And I too will keep an eye on future premium offerings from CRKT.

I'm afraid the CRKT image will really hurt this knife. They should have put out a line with a lower price and slowly edged into the mid-tech market. Looks nice but the description sounds more like the Strider market than Ken Onion.

Even the new Zts that should be released later on this year will be cheaper than this...

And that, right there, may be the biggest problem CRKT has with the Hi Jinx. The space they're trying to gain traction in is already dominated by another player. If I were CRKT, I'd develop a whole new product line like Kai did with ZT if they're going to try to do battle in the overbuilt, heavy-duty folder arena.

I actually like the look of this knife. Its 0350ish IMO. I've always thought they (CRKT) had good design ideas but lacked in materials and finish. I am glad to see they are taking a step up. With that being said, I can't see myself spending that kind of money on this. My most expensive knife at this point is my ZT 801 and I just don't see myself paying an estimated $150 more than that on this. It might be worth it in materials and build quality, but like others said its like they have cheapened their brand name.

How's the Hyundai Equus doing? I don't know that I've actually seen one in the wild. Different scale, same idea, I think.

KO, Lionsteel, bearings, titanium and high end steel for $300 or less doesn't seem out of line to me. What do Taiwanese Southards go for again? Just because it has the CRKT name doesn'tt mean this knife is crap guys. CRKT is on the rebound.

Very nice looking knife, but he price is WAY too high. At $100, I may be interested....at $500 MSRP...no way.
