New CRKT Hi Jinx

This won knife of the year?

I can't do it... Just doesn't appeal to me at all. YMMV of course. $400 really?

CRKT continues with the gimmicky-est corny names. Hi... Jinx... To go with your Shenanigan, Enticer, and Endorser.
 
Its still available for $299 free shipping at places. I figured why not and got one. If I don't like it then I'll either return or sell it.
 
I like CRKT. I like the way they always (always) give you more than what you put in. Value in the old sense, a good product for an honourable price. Unlike other manufacturers they don't rip off designers or producers of intellectual property.
This knife is a new move for them, not just in terms of price but also in terms of OEM producer. A knife of the year made by manufacturer of the year, I can't really see how you can go wrong with that and I can defiantly see why it carries the price it does. It would surprise me if CRKT make any money from the Hi Jinx.

Will I get one? No. But that is not due to the brand but rather the style. The Hi Jinx just doesn't float my boat but from what I've seen it is a very remarkable knife. I am sure you will get more than you pay for, even at 400 dollars. Why? Because CRKT has always delivered in the past.

Please note I am in no way associated with CRKT, I'm just an end user with very good experiences of the company.
 
I've had CRKT's with very poor liner locks, steel that was way too soft and the edge would just roll with use in green wood, that didn't affect other brands at all. This new high dollar knife isn't made by them, it just has their name and design of someone they hired. Hopefully it's a lot better than what I've experienced.
 
I like the blade shape but I would have to handle one before spending that kind of money because the scales cut out the way they are doesnt seem very ergo to me.
 
Got mine yesterday. Really happy with it. It rides perfectly in my pocket and I love how thick the blade is. It flips very smoothly and fit and finish seems perfect. The lock is a little sticky but not too bad. Don't mind it.
