New EDC (first post edit for more info)

I really think you will like the zing. I just received one on a trade from the forum (thanks waynejitsu) and I love it. It seems you are looking for a smaller knife (not bulky) and this is it. I am really amazed that the blade length on this is equal to some of my other knives yet it is so much smaller overall. Very solidly built but not heavy at about 3 oz. Assisted opening is great but when you get a non assisted flipper that opens like a switchblade = priceless.

On another note I totally agree with you on the spydies not being for everyone. I never liked the looks on them and am only now (after about 6 months) starting to warm up to them. I like the looks of the persistence and a couple others but still think most are god ugly.

Honestly the main reason I responded to this thread is sometimes I get sick of everyone on this forum trying to shove spyderco down every new users throat. There are other knives that can compete with the Tenacious, price for quality.

Benchmade will sharpen your knives for free for the life of the knife.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong on that.

I do agree you either love the look of a Spyderco or you hate it but damn the Delica4 is one great EDC for under $100.

-Kershaw Leek
-Kershaw Zing (Tanto Point)
-Benchmade 580 Barrage
-Benchmade 551 Griptilian

Add to the the Spyderco Tenacious

I think that I'm at the point that no matter what Knife I go with I will be happy with my purchase

And with prices under 100 bucks, I could pick up 2 of them

Once Payday arrives I'm making some purchases from Knifecenter, Opinel Folder, and Spyderco Tenacious. I think... reading about the cheaper steel in the Tenacious has me worried

The Kershaw JunkYard Dog II also meets your requirements. You can pick up a Titanium Frame lock blem on the exchange for cheap. (I could not for the life of me tell you what made mine a "blem") They are very strong, comfortable knives that flip open easily and they carry tip down.
