New ESEE DPx H•E•S•T Folder

Again, the serialized version will ONLY be available from dpxgear.com web site

Hi R.A.T. -

Understand - but I was hoping that it might be mentioned here when the ordering is available.

If not, I'll be checking that other site occasionally.

best regards -

I wonder if the bottle opener will work like an Emerson opener. It's got the hook in right direction for it.

That knife gets Strider's and ZT's run for their money! Titanium and D2? I think I am in love... :D

I'm thinking that to raise some cash for this...

you should PM me and sell me your RC or ESEE 3, 4, and 6!
I will give ya the full 200 needed for the HEST folder - for your 3 blades...
It's a sacrifice..I know,
but I will make it for you...just cause I'm a nice guy. :)

seriously...do they still pay ya for plasma?....hmmmm lol!

My gut told me, after talking to you guys at blade, that this would be the folder I wanted. So, I stopped even looking then and have just waited. Just going by looks and specs I see my gut was right. This thing looks awesome.

I'd love to try and get a numbered version, but Canada Border Services are very strict when it comes to importing folders that can be 'flicked' open. Is it possible, and do you think dpxgear.com would be willing to tighten the pivot before shipping to Canada?

It would probably only be a problem if the pivot was so loose that if you held the knife horizontally the blade popped out by sheer gravity. If I can get a/o knives from the states through customs than I'm sure this knife would have no problem either.

I'm not sure if you've had problems ordering from the states, but I've never had any knife siezed by customs that was actually legal.

I'm assuming they will allow those from across the pond to reserve numbered ones ;)

I've been looking for a hard use folder, was set on the ZT 200, but I think this just beat it out, this looks awesome, no recurve, D2, nice high saber grind, glass breaker, titanium framelock, and the awesome warranty you can find without going into the $400-$500 range. Definitely getting one of these, might still get the ZT200 but its funds just got taken by this folder, so its gonna be much further down the road now. Great Job on this one guys.

We will be as democratic as possible (yes we even sell #'s 1, 250, etc to the public) with advance notice of when the reservations open for numbered editions. From our previous selling out the fixed blade HEST, we found that a lot of people weren't aware of the DPx site (just as a lot of DPx folks were not aware of Bladeforums!) Since we have plenty of time and we expect a full sell through there will be a fixed time and date to reserve and then a limited time for sell through so that the dealers can also get their products sold.

The limited edition will have some very cool extras and of course come with signed certificates and special packaging. Its just my way of saying thanks to those folks who want something special without being charged and arm or a leg.

Will it be possible for those who have the numbered LE fixed Blade HEST to get the same numbered folder?

That takes awesome to a whole new level! You guys hit it waaaaay out of the ballpark on this one.

I hope I can score one of the LE versions. :)

Looks good:thumbup:

Any more info on the little Mr.DP tool? Is there a sheath? Appx size?

I'm not into limited editions, so the deciding factor on if I'll order the first run is what the extras are...which leads to another question...any word on what they/it might be?

And what is a rotolock?

size and the tool info is right there in the second pic (it took me a second to see the tool, so as a hint, it's in the top right corner)

it's not 'rotolock' but 'rotoblock', and it's that little thing in the middle of the lockbar that prevents it from being opened too far (like the Hinderer lockbar stablizer)
