I've seen this in use on other sites, and I'm adding it here based on how I've seen it work, and user feedback from certain members.

This feature will allow feedback to be listed from for sale / trade forum deals and will allow for instant tracking on user profiles.

In order to prevent abuse, only threads from the exchange forums will be eligible for feedback. When leaving feedback, you will need to provide a URL from a specific thread in the Exchange. If you try to leave feedback on something not in the Exchange forums, it won't let you.

The system isn't foolproof, but I'm going to be very harsh on abuse.

Current settings:
Users have 5 minutes to edit / delete feedback they leave.
You must wait 24 hours before you can rate the same person again, so no multiple ratings / dings on the same person in the same day.
There is a 30 day max time limit on leaving return feedback once you've received feedback from someone.
There is a 5 person, per day limit for leaving feedback for "new traders" - if you have less than 5 feedback, you are considered a "new trader" - (Since this is a new feature for the site, however, until Wed of next week you can rate unlimited people. URL Checking is still enforced; you cannot rate someone in a thread you / they haven't participated in. This will give you guys a chance to catch up on old trades) TIME LIMITS NOW ENFORCED

I'm in the process of enabling it on usergroups now. You will be able to start leaving feedback for trades / sale posts shortly

Should be good to go right now.

Cool. I just left some feedback for a buyer.

Now if I can just get everyone with whom I've dealt to leave me feedback. :D

I was rating some of my most recent sales. I see you can only do 3 or 4 per day.

Seems a very good addition... Excellent, Spark, thank you!! :D:thumbup:

Yeah, I just edited the OP to reflect this. The new limit is 5 per person per day for "new traders"

Yeah, I got an automatic email about suspicious activity from Guyon. I always suspected you of suspicious activities....

Are you required to leave additional comments?
I had clicked in the field and it would not let me submit due to too few characters. I don't mind leaving additional comments, I was just wondering if it is required.

Thank,
Ed

You need to leave a little bit of a comment, yes.

Frankly, in my opinion if this is something that shows a numerical score and maybe brief remarks like ebay and nothing else I am against it. No single number can substitute for TGB&U.

It's not going to replace TGBU, at all. What it does do, however, is provide a rapid way for someone to see what a previous buyer / seller / trader has done in trades, along with links to those specific threads. You can see what feedback people have gotten, have left, etc, as buyers / sellers / traders. Best of all, it requires a specific thread that they've taken part in, and those threads must be from the exchange.

It's a good addition, but it's not a replacement.

I wish I could get credit for all my past deals. :D

But this looks like an excellent feature Spark. Good call. ;)

First off, thanks for the great feature. Used it already and it's great.

Two questions:

only threads from the exchange forums will be eligible for feedback. When leaving feedback, you will need to provide a URL from a specific thread in the Exchange.

1) Does this include feedback to buyers/sellers who are BF members who have responded via email to threads without posting on the thread?

There is a 30 day max time limit on leaving feedback.

2) Is that 30 days from the completion of the transaction?

Either you or the person getting feedback had to start the thread.

Looking over the settings, it looks like it's actually for giving a return rating, not a rating on old deals. I need to look further on it.

Just a little confused, I went to a thread on a deal I did with Thomason, tried to leave feedback on him, it gave me an error message, I did not have rights to that page, I know this will take some getting use to, but exactly how do I leave the feedback if not leaving it from the thread the deal started in?

I told you I was confused. Any further clarification would be appreciated.
Jim
