I think you can get a scraper, a couple of condoms, a bottle of Viagra and two shots of Scotch in it!
The whole design is so you can fill the tube up with your favorite ESEE flavored Kool-aid, screw the ferro rod in, freeze it in your freezer and out pops an ESEE popsicle with ferro rod stick
And there you have it folks! The truth is out! It has always been there under the surface but now it comes out! He WANTS us to drink the Kool-aid.![]()

Wow... this looks great! I can see you're taking full advantage of SolidWorks' new rendering capability. Awesome.
Great minds do think a like... Guess we'll have to find a way to change up our design for this year. It's not identical but striking similar.
Can't wait to see it at Blade 2011.

Rob, welcome to our forum. By all means don't change your designs because of us. There is plenty of room for everyone in this industry. Good designs are good designs. I really like yall's stuff. Onward!
Thanks Jeff! I've been lurking on BF for a while now so I guess it was time to make my first post. I like this thing so much it's hard to describe. It's almost as though someone reached into my brain. I was stunned when I saw it so you'll have to excuse the mess.
Truth be told, there are only so many ways to do the ferrocerium rod in-a-capsule idea so it's inevitable that we find some common ground. You guys have developed the idea further than we had with all the modularity. I had a few different concepts modeled but likely we'll take a similar approach but include a striker similar in concept to the nanoSTRIKER but different in execution. Imagine a really fat nanoSTRIKER.
I've been going back and forth about adding a compass. It is a tough one as most of the button compasses we sampled weren't worth their salt. I know there are a few good ones out there like the one in your original kit. Brunton has some nice ones too (maybe that is what you used) but not in the size we wanted. The nice quality ones start getting very expensive.
Rob, anything we can do to help you guys out don't hesitate to ask. Your stuff is good kit and we like seeing good gear on the market, even if ours or yours has similarities. The way I look at it is a good idea is a good idea. It only makes sense to morph good ideas into better ones because the bottom line, to us, and obviously to you, is to make sure quality life saving tools get in the hands of people that need them. Think about going modular on your new kits also. I think it opens a whole new door as to things you can add-on and do with it. We've got a few more ideas we're thinking about adding to ours, including signaling capability.
I can't wait to see what else you guys have up your sleeve!
Likewise, amigo. Looking forward to seeing you guys at Blade.
