I think Hypermole was making a joke, The real winner still hasn't responded per the OP. I may be wrong but this is how I see it.

It sounds like the winner will be posted and then needs to respond but I don't think the winner has been posted yet. I guess it's possible the winner was emailed but I thought I remember seeing the winners username on the Knives Emporium homepage in the past. I just don't see one now.
 
I'm guessing here will be a few more days of waiting. Got to keep the post bumped on the first page.
 
Strange way to end it:mad: I can't believe they just don't post the winner here. The way they pulled this along you would think they would plaster the winners name everywhere. I never win anything so I'm not worried on my behalf. I hope we weren't duped. I enjoy the knives on their site.

Last time I think it took a while because nobody was responding to emails or didn't fill it out properly

It was like this last go-around, too. Make no mistake, it's advertising. BladeForums is huge. To have a continuous thread bumped on the busiest forum to the front page for 1/3 of a year is a lot of eyeballs. That's why this isn't the first long drawing, and as stated above, another is pending! Stay tuned! I wish this would get restricted to a dealer subforum or something.

Enh I don't mind a bit of free publicity to them, if they end up giving a way a XM-24 to a random member who posted here. I do hate waiting as much as the next guy but no big deal for a chance at this. Would make more sense in my mind to just say the actual draw date is 4 months ahead, rather than delay announcing a winner, but hey what do I know.

agreed, yah its cheaper advertising but at least there giving back to the community in stead of it just being ads.

I like these giveaways.

Gotta love when a giveaway "for bladeforums members" goes to a person with 2 posts (both of which are giveaways) and joined the forum 10 days ago....

To all that are not pleased with what we do,

It sounds like some are not happy that someone with 2 posts is the winner, look at this thread how many signed-up and responded to this thread, specifically for this giveaway with very few post plus a lot of members with few posts do not even reply to the thread, they just sign-up for the giveaway that’s all.

We already made a change for this particular giveaway (only for members belonging to bladeforums) Maybe the next one we need to say (for members with a minimum of 100 posts). (Bladeforums might not like this though, filling up hard drives on their servers).

A lot of members here on bladeforums do not post every day; sometimes they don’t post in months. Why? They might have moved or have another interest amongst many other reasons. Nonetheless they are members of bladeforums and Knives Emporium and are eligible; if a member wins we try to do the best we can to reach the winner.

One time the knife got lost in the mail and we did not get it back, we mailed the winner another one.

Do a search; it’s easy to find out the happy members that posted their experience receiving their price. :cool:

We like to give everyone a fair change and wait one week for a response, if we don’t receive a response in that timeframe we draw again.

All above are facts.

Btw- The winner for the Hinderer is announced on our Web-Site.

Disclaimer: This isn't a complaint or criticism in any way shape or form, as this was a giveaway and I deserve nothing. You're great for doing it and you can give it to whomever you choose and decide however you choose in my books.

That being said, i'd like to offer this up:

Rather than focusing on # of posts, it would make more sense to me to restrict by the members Join Date. Say they had to of been a BF member since a certain date. That way, one can't create extra accounts under a new email and name and get an extra chance to enter. I'm not saying it was done in this case, but it is a possibility.

To me, it seems as though Knives Emporium gained a good deal of clout and business from Bladeforums for hosting a "giveaway for bladeforums members only". Obviously the giveaway was not for bladeforums members only, seeing as the GA was advertised on Facebook with "all that we require to be eligible is to register on our website www.knivesemporium.com" and the fact that any schmo off the street that took 2 minutes to register on BF could win (and did).

Just my 2 cents

Edit: Also don't think that I am disgruntled because I did not win, I would have LOVED to see one of my fellow posters who contribute to the forum win the prize.
 
So the winner joined 10 days ago and has 2 posts? Thats just seems weird to me. I'm rather suspicious by nature so who knows.
It just would have been nice if the knife went to a member with longer standing who has actually contributed to better blade forums.

Yeah that's exactly what I was thinking too after I looked up that user. :rolleyes:

All I could think was you have got to be kidding me........

Great giveaway though, would have been nice to see someone that has been a member for awhile and actually contributed to the forums win though.......
