New from Zombie tools

all jokes aside though, if I was really gonna use an axe for crushing zombie domes I would go with the 40 dollar Estwing, it wouldn't make any sense to pay 375 bones on a Zombie Toy Axe and get zombie slime all over it........and that amount of money would be better spent on ammo or a gun.

Nope nope nope!
When the zombie apocalypse comes, money no longer works, remember?
You just take whatever you need from the nearest "big box store", or the droves of dead "heroes" who ran out there to save the world too early.

Pay attention!!! ;)

Should they be required to only buy props, so as not to upset those who are unable to let others do what makes them happy without making some comment about it?
Do my comments really have that much power and influence? I thought these were guys readying themselves against hordes of desperate human beings intent on violently threatening their survival when the apocalyptic doom hits the fan. Well, that was easy. I guess the pen truly is mightier than the sword.

Hey, whatever floats your boat…your bugout boat, of course.:D

LOL.....no.....they don't.

I rest my case.

Perhaps it would help if you found a real hobby, instead of lurking on the Interwebz for people of whom you could disapprove?

Well, you are the one who was apparently desperate for the rest of us to know your opinion on the matter. Others don't seem to be waiting for your pre-approval to "float their boat", are they?

I'm sorry to have upset you with my comments, BlackKnight86. I hope you enjoy your blade choices, and I'll enjoy mine. :)

I've been enjoying my blade choices ever since I started, and long before receiving begrudging "permission" from some of my opinionated peers who may disagree with those choices. I think that was the whole point behind some of the comments objecting to people launching unsolicited criticism of why people like to own certain things.

No offense was taken. That's the nature of discussion.

Man why does everyone have a hardon for Eastwing? They're just ok. I take my RMJ to the woods with me.

And not sure why anyone cares if someone else likes a design or not, no sense in the disparaging remarks. If you like it buy it, if not don't and move on. But guess there are people like this everyone. See them on the gun forums too with groupies

I don't think people have a hard on for Estwings, they are not the best axe in the world but they sure do last a long time and they are affordable and easily attainable at local hardware stores, I look at them as a "beater" axe and they sure would be perfect as a Zombie hacking tool.

You know it's too late then. A big box store is guaranteed to have at least 5 customers and 10 employees ready to turn at any moment. And with traffic jams you're just waiting for the hundreds within a couple blocks to turn and trap you. Just think of the highway in The Walking Dead.

You need to think of a plan for saferooms and caches to get out asap.

After looking at it for a while, I believe it would work as a specialized hewing ax and Viking battle ax. I see nothing wrong in collecting items due to fantasy. One guy owns a Ming vase...do I ever see any flowers in it...NOPE (I just made this up but it helps illustrate the point). And it cost a tad bit more than this ax.

With three pages so far, I don't think I've seen much commentary on the design itself. At four pounds, I'd say they need to be slow zombies. :)

Comments on design, fellows?

I think this is my first post in the ATH forum and I'm not familiar with the brand, but here is my .02.

I like the design, but it seems like they didn't leave enough steel behind the heel of the blade (if that makes since to anyone).

Anyone own any of their products or read any reviews for the Z.T. axes?

4lbs isn't that bad considering what a rifle weighs, or the fact that things this heavy and heavier were wielded for centuries (maces, greatswords, claymores, etc) you just have to get in the gym and put some muscle on those chicken wings

Have you seen how fast the grocery stores shelves clear on the threat of snow? Dont expect the stores to have supplies.
Not a fan of Eastwings hawk design . The Zombie Tools are cool. I am a user so I stick with my trusty RMJs but dont condemn those who dont.
I surprised 300six has chimed in yet-maybe he is under the disguise of "woodnut camo".
Some collect to use, some collect to fondle and then there are the trolls. . .

I've got some issues with the design. I don't like that the grip would prevent my hand from sliding in an overhead chop I don't like that I stab my high hand if I choke up towards the blade (a necessity for combat use BTW). I do not like the squareness of the handle, it definitely could use some more beveling approaching octagonal or elliptical.
I do like the long cutting edge, and I like the bit bevels.
