NEW GEC - 571326 Geppetto Whittler

The first new knife I have purchased in a long time! I prefer Tidioute trim, because I like smooth rounded bolsters and satin blades. I was a bit concerned about the color, or lack of color, of these. However, it looks great, even better in real life. The pulls are all light, but even that is a plus on this particular pattern. The nail nicks would be hard to handle if the springs were strong. This one is just about right.

Excellent choice Greg, this looks like THE definitive version of the pattern. The bone will be enhanced with use and if patina comes into the equation then...exquisite! Very good looking knife indeed. It is a bit troubling that GEC are leaning towards very light pulls lately, however, I agree with you that on a pattern such as this with small secondaries you don't want too much pull. Shield suits the pattern most satisfyingly .

Thanks, Will

My first Richlite covered knife on Richlite. When my customers ask for a recommendation for cutting board material, Richlite is my “go to” for durability and ease on the knife’s edge. It’s also an approved material by the NSF, FDA & USDA. This particular 57 had pretty poor action until I gave the joints a thorough flushing. It’s now perfect and I’m glad to have it amongst the other 57s.
