I heard this second hand....perhaps one of you can confirm...that each of the splitback whittlers are personally inspected by Bill due to the increased difficulty of the design. Nonetheless, I'm a sucker for the splitback design and will thankfully receive my oxblood soon...one of my favorite colors.

These are pretty cool! Good size in the hand and pocket. Nice to see a 3-blader from Bill & Co. I like the nail nicks. Would have liked to get a checkered richelite but I’ll take this sweet jigged bone and (double bomb?) shield any day! Instant classic.

Puzzled why this pattern is not more popular - still available at many online dealers. Is it the pattern itself or the price? Years ago the Gepetto was grail worthy and now they sit unsold. I’ve handled a few and all were perfectly executed…so I’m just a bit perplexed

The new 57’s are popular. There are only a few left and only at some of the more expensive small dealers. All of the major dealers sold out quickly. Multi-blade GEC’s that sell for over $200 often sit on the shelves for a few weeks with the smaller dealers.
