New GEC pemberton sure is small!

It's killing me waiting to see which bone GEC uses on the Northfield...!

Well, if what I've heard (or seen written) is true, I may have to do the pounce thing again.

However, GEC hasn't produced this type of bone/jigging since they've been doing their own bone, and a recent example isn't terribly encouraging:

(Described sans "Amber," but it's the jigging that is especially stellar.)

Yes, the difference in jigging is unfortunate. What a shame. The 25 is as you say: stellar

I consider it one of GEC's best, evah. The randomness in the cuts and their depth really sets this one apart for me.

...Wonder whose work it is?

There's still a chance the Pemberton's jigging will be mmm, mmm Good, but the naming and presentation of the bone on the Cotton Sampler above isn't confidence-inspiring.

(And, with as yet no firm word or forthcoming images regarding the bone Northfield Pembertons, this could all be moot!)

^ Very good! :D

That's a beautiful little knife :)

Come on...that Semi-Peach pit on that Cotton sampler is pretty nice! GEC does however need to get into the old style Jigging practive though. I know it may drive costs up but Im willing to pay for the extra details.

The NF bone had to come up just as I blow my knife budget on a different pattern. Ergh.
Looks great!

Actually the sunfish (top knife) is pretty average sized when compared with most modern-style folders. About the size of a spyderco delica. It's definitely one of my favorite GEC's!

I have to agree. The Sunfish is a dandy size for pocket carry. I have a two blade, with single spring by GEC (one of their all steel models). It is great in the pocket. The handle is hand pleasing, and thinner than my two blade trappers, due to the single spring.

I see the Northfield bone is autumn gold, though I like the jigging. I'm thinking this time I'm going for wood instead. If the black olive bone was on the NF instead I know what I would have been ordering, but there ya go.

I can't get two, can I? Nah...not today, in too much trouble with three packages arriving at once. :D

If that shows up on the new barlow, oh wow!

You could also pitch it when the cover material poll goes up for the forum knife...

I'd hate to see it "wasted" on (what-looks-to-be-) a Congress. :p

Meanwhile, the bone Northfield Pembertons seem to be scarce to nonexistent. Hunh.

Anybody catch 'em all? ;)

Looking at them all together, the ebony stands out to me, still. Wish it'd had two blades....

I'll bet the Cherry Soda's a looker in real-life, though.

Y'all will be posting pictures, yes?

I like the Ebony version too, has a nice vintage look. Mine should be here this week.

I ordered a cocobolo 2 blade one. It's gonna be my Sunday knife. Peanut for the week and the Pemberton for sunday.
