New GEC pemberton sure is small!

I was trawling the internet and decided to stop by GEC's site. I didn't know they put out a Pemberton in stag a week ago. Bet you can't guess what I have heading my way in the mail :)

It looks like a great knife, and, well, stag. It's self explanatory.

I've been carrying one with Cocobolo all day. I generally prefer ebony, but I am very pleased with this little gem. Cocobolo works very well in this small pattern. It is just beautiful. If you want a two bladed one with wood covers, this one is a win.

Carried my snake wood Pemberton today for Wooden Wednesday. No pics (yet), but as Carl so aptly put it, it is a exquisite little knife, just terrific and as nice as my AGR pinched peanut in FnF.

How does the 2-blade Pemberton compare in thickness to the Case Peanut? I'm thinking of bone or wood. Thanks

I have to have one of these with the ebony wood scales! I love the cocobolo and snake wood too but i want the single blade version as to keep the slim profile of the single blade knife. How heavy are these does anybody know? Looks like it would ride perfectly in the coin pocket of my jeans.

Got the ebony version today. A lovely little knife, centered, no blade play. Great job GEC

1.2 ounces on my digital scale...

If there were a GEC knife made for a bail and MOP covers (no shield), this would be it.

Cherry Soda Acrylic inbound! I've never had a knife with Acrylic covers, and curiosity finally got the best of me. ;)

Autumn jig bone en route!

(Might be something in the air. Or the water.)

Oooh-- I look forward to hearing what you think (and hopefully seeing some pictures :)). From the little bit hinted at in stock images, I have a feeling that one might be something special, especially its translucence on this wee bottle-shaped frame.

....... OK Sarah, I'll post pics of the Pemberton for pertinux pending arrival. ;) Meanwhile, gratuitous GEC pic unrelated to current thread. Sorry, no intent to derail thread.

Huzzah! Great picture.

That's a conductor, and... a Big Jack, maybe?

What are the covers called for each? The bone of the conductor looks very similar to that of my appaloosa Jack (a #25).

To keep this thread on track: By identifying the above, you can help us all better understand the scale (and appreciate the contrasts) when you post new pictures of those knives (if you still have 'em? I hope so), together with the incoming Pemberton. :-)

Thanks Sarah! The perspective on the pic is a bit off - it's a Conductor and a White Owl. The Conductor is clad in Smooth Ivory Bone, and the White Owl is wearing Dusk Buffalo Horn. And I still have them both so I'll be sure to include 'em in comparison pics with the Pemberton. I'll also take pics with some GEC #25's. ;)

And here I usually know my white owls! Fine pair o' knives, there.

That's a lot to look forward to.

BTW, do you have a Pemberton coming or is the jury still out on this one?

USPS has hiccuped a couple times as of late, but something sma' could arrive tomorrow, Monday at the latest. Hence my whistlin' dude response to Sommerman's post above. In which lies the clue as to what's on its way. ;)

I love the clean lines of the Tidioute Pembertons, but prefer two blades. I'm not terribly fond of GEC's cloud shield (which they seem to consider "premiere," given some of the materials they pair it with), or would have been more tempted by the cocobolo. (The snakewood looks tremendous, but I dislike snakes so intensely I'm not sure I could get over the name. Fickle, I know. We each have our little ways....)

But mostly, I look forward to seeing more pictures of all of 'em. Especially that cherry soda. :)

I'm guessing Monday for my Cherry Soda. Between the email (read too quickly) and my obtuseness regarding the whistling dude I finally figured out you did in fact have a Pemberton coming. (I deleted the final question from my post, but you had already caught me). ;)

Back to our originally scheduled programming .....

That's the one I think is the best looking of the bunch.

Right! Didn't hurt that one of the GEC distributors (not a BF dealer mind you) has it under-priced by about $10 compared to others. Bank error in one's favor, as they say.

I felt the same way. Would have preferred a 2-blade ebony Tidioute but given the choice had to go with the 2-blade or I'd kick myself later. Luckily the #25 I won in your giveaway satisfies my pangs for a wee, Tidioute, 2-blade ebony jack :D P.S. Congrats on 4k posts!
