New GEC pemberton sure is small!

(Boom, Baby.)

I felt the same way. Would have preferred a 2-blade ebony Tidioute but given the choice had to go with the 2-blade or I'd kick myself later. Luckily the #25 I won in your giveaway satisfies my pangs for a wee, Tidioute, 2-blade ebony jack :D

I've been wondering what you think of it, now that you have it 'round. Not everyone likes them, and that's okay. I imagine it'll seem Yuge once the Pemberton arrives. Meanwhile, the power of suggestion is a Mighty thing:

P.S. Congrats on 4k posts!

Well, whaddaya know?! Some of the people in this conversation sure do talk a lot.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Round numbers are fun. :)

It's been a happy little nugget in my watch pocket for several days. It really hits a lot of levels for me (ebony, all steel, half-stops, etc.) Predictably my girlfriend finds it very cute. I really cannot believe my luck and your particular generosity on that one; I know I have to give away a GEC knife now to balance things out!

Great Pemberton pics by the way. What a jewel.

~P, thank you for the comparo pics with the peanut...it may be tiny, but looks to have a bit more to hang on to girth wise.

Well, the above is more than enough for me, with no "have to" attached as far as future giving. :)

I'm really (really) glad you like it. Your girlfriend has good taste. And look, she also likes your knife.

I am amazed by this little thing. I was concerned that the 2-blader would be, let's see, "gloppy"-- too thick for its length and width. Not at all. It's maybe a hair thicker than the peanut (which would possibly vary depending on the respective covers on each), a smitch shorter, and... not bitey the way I've found peanuts to be. I believe you would be a better gauge of that, however-- peanuts seem to go out of their way to bite you. Heh. And you're right, the "little bit more" makes a nice difference.

Oh, and a couple of my #25s are downright envious of the pulls on both of the Pemberton's blades (another concern, ahead of time). Sweet spot, indeed.

I don't really care for knives under 3" but since i got Case yellow peanut i wanted one in chestnut bone, and now i want pembertone in ebony,it just never ends.

Looking good, Sarah - congrats! Thank's for the pics ..... now I really can't wait for the Cherry Soda to show up! ;)

Before these comparison pictures i thought i might've gone a bit overboard, ordering four pembertons, two two-bladed and two single-bladed, but now i'm quite content with my order. Can't wait! :)

Thanks, y'all. But, be sure to catch SonnyJim's picture comparisons and impressions in t'other Pemberton thread, if you haven't already. His input-- complete with the same Peanut!-- confirmed my decision to go for a Pemberton.

I'd hoped for some outdoor settings at the end of the afternoon, but due to drizzle I only made it as far as the porch. Here's what I gots:

No, it's not Antique Horsecut, but GEC did a fine job with this deeper, expressive jigging:

Again with the Peanut

This is inaccurately eyeballed, but it's still a decent representation of about how much of Mr. Peanut can be seen o'er the top of the Pemberton if they're lined up correctly:

Autumn Gold: the Pemberton bone is "greener" and the jigging is deeper and more varied than that of the White Owl (I don't know that I would have named 'em the same "color" if it were up to me, but I'm thinking the Pemberton's bone is consistent with other, newer "Autumn Gold"?), but both are beautiful.

Neither looks as Indian-paintbrushed to the naked eye; their colors are more subtle.

Wow these little knives sure look great. Congrats to all those that can pick one up. It looks to be an excellent little companion

I'm really looking forward to your comparison shots because I was convinced I wanted the single blade because of how much thinner I thought it would be but after seeing some of these pictures with the 2 blade version next to a Peanut it really doesn't look nearly as wide as I thought it would be.

Just got my Ebony single blade Pemberton and this little thing is a beast! Great snap and half stop. Perfect watch pocket size! Just finished putting an edge on it and its a little scalpel now! This is a big winner for GEC!

I just got mine yesterday and I feel the same way...just put an edge on mine too, this is my new permanent resident of my watch pocket. Here's a few quick ones showing off the Ebony in the afternoon sunshine

Thanks for the pics P, interesting to see the comparisons.

His input-- complete with the same Peanut!-- confirmed my decision to go for a Pemberton.

Like you ever need much encouragement to go for another knife! :D
