New home made grinder pictures

Knife Grinder Side Panel Drawing

The main thing is to allow the tool arm to slide over the motor with this design. Most dimensions are not critical and should fit the material you have.

Darrel, I was looking at you grinder pictures and was wondering if the square arm is steel or aluminum?

Thanks!

Alex

Very nice, the paint is an especialy nice touch. Most of what I build will probably never see a paint job. I hate to get something fitted and working and then take it apart again. One suggestion on the tracking, it looks like you have to lift the idler wheel to ajust it? It needs to be made so that you can quickly and easily ajust tracking. I find I change belts pretty quickly in order of grinding and finishing.

Awesome grinder! I recently just bought a bench grinder from Lowes, and I am finishing my first knife.

i have practically finished my tool and cutter grinder project, god i wish i had never started it, lots of blood sweat and tears gone into this one as im not experienced to say the least,,this is my first real big project, turned out pretty good but much room for improvement, i have just started to put together a metalworking website, its mainly for beginners like myself, if you wish you can view.

Darrell I noticed that this thread goes back to 2006 are you still here and if you are wow thats one hell of a grinder. What ide like to know now is how do you like it for performance. Can you do hollow grinds with those little wheels or is this grinder set up for straight flat grinds. I also like to know do you or have you installed a variable speed controll on it. Thats awesome kellyw
