Even better, how about finding a damascus that would be compatible with S30V, VG10, SG2, or ZDP, to use in composite blades?
How amazing would that be, a composite blade with a damascus spine and a ZDP edge!?![]()
Truthfully ol and kneedeep, I'm not sure a damascus composite blade would even be possible. It would need to be proved out.
Knowing the lack of fun it was to do up the damascus Leeks, I would think it would be a long shot though. The problem with damascus is that it comes in such small pieces (6" x 12-14") with most of them not even close to being straight. It was just not cost effective to process them out, and I doubt Craig could be convinced (probably me as well) to do even another damascus run, let alone a composite run. I'll bring it up to him though, it certainly would be cool.
