New Item Delivery Dates and Information

What kind of damascus will it be? Suminogashi with VG10 core?

Thanks, Vassili.

Let me explain why I am asking.

Damascus blade made out of combinaion of two metals usually steel + steel, but it also may be steel + nickel. And property of the blade depends on what combination is used and who is the author.

Now "Damascus Blade" to me sounds like "Blade made out of Steel" - I really like to know what it actually is? Otherwise it may be nails hammered out flat with silverware...

There is Damasteel which make PM damascus, there is Suminogashi - Japanese version of damascus where they have solid core with good steel etc. At least is this damascus stainless?

There are many unclear questions about this Leak.

Thanks, Vassili.

Thomas,

I'm interested in one of these Damascus Leeks. Are there any reputable dealers you know of taking preorders. I can only find preorders on ebay and I'm not really comfortable with that

Thank you
Geoff

The steel is produced by Alabama Damascus (customers request).

But, what is that steel?
What HRC?
Is it stainless or carbon?

Thanks, Vassili.

P.S. So Far I forund $80 fixed blade by Bear and Son 0.1" thick 512 layered Damascus.
No word of what it is made from and where it was made. With the fact they sell Camel bones for scales I start thinking that this is made in India or even Pakistan.

I know Blue Ridge Knives was listed as the Distributor, so you could
contact them about a possible dealer in your area.

Hi Geoff,

United Cutlery (the eBay seller listing the leeks) is run by a guy named Dave Lewis... (it just so happens he lives in the next town over from me).. I've pre-ordered w/ him.. he seems like a real straight-shooter... for what it's worth, I'd vouch for him. I'll let you know when I receive mine! :D

It is a carbon damascus, but I don't know much about the steel, sorry. BRK's provided the steel to us.

I would imagine you will find these knives over the next week or so at your favorite e-tailers.

I guess I'll skip this one if it is modern Pakistani or Indian damascus. I hope BRK or Alabama Damascus will make it clear.

Thanks, Vassili.

Hi,

I'm new here, but I've collected a few kershaw knives for the last couple years - I noticed in this thread that there's apparently going to be a Junkyard Dog II with an SG2 blade w/titanium handles and I was wondering whether anyone here has any updates about how far away its production is. Thank you very much for your help.

Splits, blades are being processed now, so we are looking at Oct/Nov delivery.

Fingers crossed - that's just in time for Thanksgiving!

Hi, I'm interested in the Random Leeks that were just released, will these be a regular production item? Also, could you please tell me the ETA on the PE? Thanks!

Sorry for repeat question here but was wondering what you thought in case you missed it the first time.

Thanks Thomas.

Quick question. I've been out of the loop for awhile and now I am in the market for a new knife.......er Kershaw, but I've no idea what's really out there what's new or has new options. This got me thinking that it would be great if the Kershaw site had a What's New category search field.

Maybe even by dates. It could also include inhancements to pre-exsisting designs so that we maybe able to see in what ways our favorites are being dressed up.

What do you think?

PS Those new leeks look great, I guess it's gonna be number 5 leek for me!
