I was just looking through Blade HQ site and came across new Kershaw Blurs up for pre-order. The models are 1670SWBR and 1670BWBR both are made with Elmax steel

They are both good looking knives but I would also go with the 1670BWBR. There is just something I love about blackwash blades

Oh yeah, I am on Dave's list for this one. I am still waffling on whether to get the black wash or not.

I got my blackwash elmax pre order in, probably the most excited I have been for a blur. This is one of the coolest versions for sure.

Big Erik, I've been added to the list also. A Blur in Elmax? That's too insane to pass on!

I would love the elmax blur. Except the only blur that I have has a desert tan handle and I believe the new ones only come with the brown handle. Now a green carbon fiber blur in elmax..

On the list as well. I know it said end of June on BladeHQ but still every time my email notification on my phone goes off, part of me gets a little excited only to be disappointed by another lame spam email.

I asked BHQ if the Blurs were going to be as shown in the photo and they stated that they will be hollow ground instead, just FYI.

The Elmax pics look like the grind on the stonewashed S30V blurs. How does a hollow grind differ from this? Is that what Kershaw calls their standard 14C28N Blur grind?

The grind in the pics is a flat grind. Same one used on the s30v and cpm-154 blurs. The typical blur grind is a hollow grind.

The grind is a deal breaker for me. I guess I'll be canceling my pre-order.

What's so bad about the hollow grind that it would be a deal breaker. I know flat grinds are more desirable but why?

Blade Material: Elmax
Blade Style: Drop Point Blade
Grind: Hollow

Don't know what I think about this yet....
