New Kershaw Blurs...

I never liked the Hollow grind Blur either, high flat grind S60V blem:

I own 20 ZTs and at least 50 Kershaw and Im yet to try out a blur.....this maybe the one

I looked at kershaw knives for years and skimmed over the Blur. It just never really grabbed my attention. Then I found this site and everyone kept talking about how great they were so I bought a 1670154CF Blem. Even though it was a blem I couldn't bring myself to EDC it so I bought an Olive Drab blem. That one was my main EDC for a long time (until I got into ZTs). I still think everyone should own one, and I think any model you get you get a lot of knife for the price. I'm really excited about these Elmax ones. Mostly because they just look awesome.

The reason I questioned the site description was, I saw an advertisement for the blur/elmax configuration in one of knife or tactical mags and it was showing a hollow grind so I thought I would double check(not a big fan of the hollow grind, the plunge line doesn't fit the flow of the rest of the knife imho) but glad to hear it's going to be FG ,sorry for poking the hive, my friends....

I cant wait to get the brown handled blur,it's going to be awesome

No need to apologize. Your post was the first to mention the grind discrepancy and ended with bladehq getting their site straightened around to reflect the correct info. I just assumed flat grind because Kershaw typically puts a flat grind on their higher end blurs. I wouldn't have been an deal breaker for but I would've admittedly been disappointed had the knife showed up a hollow grind.

This was interesting to read through. I initially wondered why you didn't go to the source and contact Kershaw to see what grind they were going to use, but it turns out to be a run of the mill website listing mixup.

Also, as far as the limited edition thing goes, they will tell us if a model is a limited edition, they just no longer release production numbers, so it looks like these are a "limited to how many we can sell" edition :)

"Man, that's nice!" - Grownstar. Thanks, I don't carry it much these days. Was always worried i'd let it get too dull and so I was always touching it up on ceramics. It's the hardest, most super-steel equipped knife I currently have.

Wow Northend, it's surprising you own 50 Kershaw's and don't own one of their flagship models. I agree with "T Schloz", this would be a great starting point.

Is Elmax really any better than S30V?

It may just be that my stones are getting broken in better, and I more experienced, but I sharpened my first two Elmax blades recently on my newer WE, and my preliminary thoughts were: it sharpens more easily, and takes a finer edge than s30v. FWIW, which may not be much.

I am now definitely more interested in exploring what Elmax is all about, though. It has made a great first impression.

Always a great day for a blur, they are a great knife. Unfortunately you can't stop at just one and they multiply quickly.

Got my confirmation email from BHQ as well. Really looking forward to this one. It will be my 5th Blur.

Kershawguy will be shipping his out tomorrow or Monday. They have been on his site all week though for sale
