New Knives on the Buck site

Yep, I pulled the trigger on the D2 Ironwood 119, if the 120 was not 5160 that would have come here also. Just can't stand patina on my cutting blade's, my bad I guess. Will post photos when in hand (hope it's got some nice wood).
I agree about the wood being good. I was disappointed with lack of blonde in the ebony on the 124 offering. Hope this ironwood is nice.

naw the blades, as in the ffg 119 and the 5160.....I dont know that but I saw the ffg 420hc 119 blade and I know that was c & c. not that knife as in the handle, but the blade. I also know c&c was the only dealer who sold 5160 classics models. so I expect they had 37 of the blades of that model, and custom made the handles.
Thank you. I did a little google-fu. Seems the Cooper&Clad 117 Brahma was similar - Aluminum guard and pommel / 5160 steel / Cocobolo handle. This much rarer version (only 36 produced) has a Brass guard and pommel. Only 1 left - I'm glad I got one ! Thanks again.

EDIT - Sold Out

It has me thinking (I'm not sure what :)), some of these prices, and also the quantities made, are less in price (less than $125 / $130) and fewer made than the 2021 Buck of the Months (500 each month). Just an observation.

Compare these prices to what C&C is charging for the 117's they have, and what Buck is pricing these 117/ 212 offerings..... I don't believe these are "deals".

I guess it proves the value of some of the recent botm's.

I miss the days when these offerings were not just re-handled or re-bladed running line knives.
Many of these are knives dealers used to sell, or very close to that.

Nice knives sure.
But nothing I have to have.
Tho I'm sure you'll see some of those 5160 knives on the bay for big money..... and folks will buy 'em.

I got the e-mail in my InBox. So, why am I paying $234.99 for my beloved Buck 124? It's cocktail time here, so maybe I'm a little distracted and I missed something. :D

You can build the 119 Shokwood in the same configuration for $15 less. Unless the "Metallic forest shokwood" is different from the "Shokwood" listed in the custom builder.

But the full flat grind blade is not an option on the Custom Shop build, so the wood is less of a consideration between the two.

Not a surprise that it sold out quickly, the same thing happened on the C&C website with the original version, which was a 119 full flat grind with the black phenolic handle, this one is mine and I love the no fuller flat grind.

I was going to try and ignore these specials in anticipation of the August BOTM... but when it comes to 119's the flesh is weak, and I pulled the trigger on the 119 D2 Ironwood and the 117 5160. These variants will fit nicely into my 117/119 herd.

I'm a sucker for Limited Editions / Production (Less than 100 made) - I missed out on the March 2021 Buck of the Month 117 Brahma (I like the style), so this version, with only 36 made, hits the sweet spot for me. And yes, I agree, the 5160 knives will be on the bay for $$$

true on the blade. very different than the custom options. although it sold out fast due to only 5 I think it was. the c&c ffg 119 phenolic sat unsold for a very long time. wasnt popular at all. went on sale a couple times at c&c. some of that was the massive laser etching many folks didn't care for on it.

I have one though as I think its a great geometry for the 119 model. I wouldn't mind seeing a 5160 version setup ffg and no fuller.

I was really hoping for a brass and cocobolo 212 in 420hc.

I didn't grab one of those back in the day.
So much for procrastination.

I guess the best part of these offerings is the opportunity to pick up on the knives you missed out on "back in the day".

We were driving through the middle of nowhere Idaho, down in the canyons along the river... by the time we got back to cell service and the message hit my phone all the ones I would have bought were already gone :(

Visited the site again to see that the Cherry 105 was still available so I snagged one of those, and the 112 sheath. 👍
Woke up this morning to find out that my last transaction didn't go though and I suspect that one credit provider is no longer processing purchases on weapons, or in this case, collectible cutlery.

Thankfully they still had stock and I was able to complete the purchase via PP.

I'm just glad there wasn't a 112 in some limited odd configuration because I just seen the sale..Buck build outs are some of my favorites to collect but I'm recovering from a Yellowhorse addition and wasn't actively looking..
At first glance I thought that read "Yellowstone addiction" and boy howdy do I sympathize. Monica and I love that show and we're desperately awaiting the new season.

I wonder if they had sheath made for the 212.
The blade being wider, I always thought it fit in a 103 sheath, yet that's wider yet.
The sheath in the pic does look long.
Hopefully someone here can solve this mystery.

I like the 212. I believe they would sell well with this newer style sheath.
I prefer the larger handle over the 102.
My SK version in one of Mike's slip sheaths is one of my favorite fixed blade edc's.
