NEW MEMBER THREAD! If you're new to the forum post it here.

Not new, but my i.d. got messed up so this is my new one. If you come across posts by 'runscott', you can hold 'JoeKnecht' responsible :) (Admins aware of issue, and have helped resolve - thanks).

I have not posted in a year or so, but nothing has changed - I mainly collect Spydercos, but have a healthy assortment of old traditional knives, primarily fixed-blade but plenty of pocketknives as well. I meet up with a bunch of other old men, daily, at Starbucks, and the other day one of the guys showed me his EDC - a scary-looking SE black blade Shaman. That one knife got my 'problem' resurrected, and I've since purchased a Spydiechef, Millie 2 Salt, as well as five Mules. Curse him.

Hey BF I’m John.
New here, not new to the knife world. I love to b/s/t, build and study folders, metallurgy, torture testing, and occasionally do write ups. I’m on some other platforms as zabernas and occasionally “gotnotoes”
Despite the latter, I do have toes.
Happy to be here. This is the deepest well of knife knowledge I have ever seen.
Thanks for having me,
John

Welcome to BF. Looking forward to your contributions. Enjoy.

Hello BF, I've been lurking for many years and I finally joined up. I'm active military but I mostly work logistics or admin jobs, often in foreign countries with restrictive knife laws. That means I gaze longingly at big beefy fixed blades I can't carry, and I force my small EDC folders into heavy duty when the opportunity pops up. My poor little Spyderco UKPK has endured some really weird situations.

Hi all. Long time fan of this site.. Finally registered. I’ve been an avid knife guy for decades. My collection is a mix of alot of different brands, but predominantly Spyderco.
Hopefully I can add to some conversations and start a few myself.
Glad to be here.
Welcome aboard! Looking forward to your contributions. Hang on tight, it’s a wild ride here. 😎

Hey I've been a member here for awhile just never was very active I recently left another forum and have moved in here.
I posted an introduction another place here but it says to do it in this area to so HELLO!!!!! My names Wayne I enjoy the woods sharp things and well pretty much it seems everything here. Looking forward to reading learning and hopefully having a good time.
Thanks for having me. Some of you may already know me well from my past forum I was a pretty involved member there.

Hi all,
Im Dan from Adelaide, South Australia. Before we get into it, I KNOW LITTLE about knives, terminology etc but are learning as I go so please be patient!! I Started selling my father inlaws collection of knives for him when his memory and body started to wind down on him.. he was helping where he could and providing info on what things are and values. Doug has since passed away and I am left to rehome a substantial ammount of knives left for the mother inlaw..
I have sold a heap through groups on Facebook all over the world and have many positive vouches on that platform. I have joined to broaden the base of people and hopefully rehome some more! Any issues or questions along the way, please contact me and ill do what i can to help work it out.
Cheers all

Hi there, sorry for your loss, and the daunting task of moving a collection into new hands. On Bladeforums, I do believe to sell knives here, you will need to purchase at the least a a GOLD level membership. I think you will find the small fee for this quite worthwhile in the long run.

Hi, I'm Mark. Nice to meet you all. I'm in middle-Tennessee, brand new to knife making (grinding, not forging), and have questions. Currently learning the site and the appropriate places for topics. I've already found lots of good advice and answers to some questions. I'll look forward to more.

Hello Blade Forums. I have been a member since 2004 under the username Shurock. I had to re-register because I could not log on. No matter how I tried, I could not get past the 2FA. My hope is that if I just never log out under my new name, I will be able to participate (until there is a power outage!). If anyone knows why I cannot log in, please let me know. I reset my password and checked my gmail spam on the desktop version. Still, I could not scan the QR code (it was just result in an error message) and I do not have any pass codes. Is there a way to turn off the 2FA or to prove you are an authorized user some other way? Thanks!

-Patrick

Heyyy there! Welcome to BF. Happy to see you here. Thank you again for the awesome HDM.

Hello,
Im Celtic_Iowan or Adam if you rather. Just joined. Made my first three knives for my three grown sons around the holidays last year. Gave them to them in a roughed out version then had them hold them and tell me where to adjust. Each knife is now fit to their hand perfectly.
I truly enjoyed it. I bought the blades from woodcraft and scales from Jantz.
Besides making knives, I hunt, fish, bushcraft, backpack, camp, hike, and woodwork in my garage shop. I am going to build a chicken coop, a green house, and wattle or dead hedge fence for the garden when I put it in next year. I also help take care of my 3 yo and 18 mth old granddaughters. I volunteer at a wellness center, run my own Personal Training Business, study philosophy, Deal with knee issues from the when I was in the Army back in 95/96, and maintain my home and 5 acres. My oldest son and his daughter live with my wife of 29 years and I, and my youngest son, his wife, and daughter live with us too. We went from a household of five, to empty nesters, to a household of seven!
