NEW MEMBER THREAD! If you're new to the forum post it here.

Hello.

New member here.

Been reading threads on this forum for a bit now whenever I was researching a blade that caught my interest. Figured I'd make an account and start using the forum as well.

Here's my modest knife collection which I am hoping to grow with the addition of a halfbreed LBK in cpm 3v and a cold steel trailmaster in cpm 3v.

The knives in no particular order are:

A gerber lmf 2 infantry. I bought this for urban survival and if I'm ever on a boat. The serrated blade and insulated handle will come in handy if I need to do any underwater cutting or cut any wires but that's ALL I'm gonna use it for since my main boat knife is...

...A bk2 magnacut. I'd use it for everything else on the boat other than underwater cutting and cutting wires. Too heavy and isn't serrated, I don't wan't to rely on it for life and death underwater cutting...I replaced the stock grips with G10 because this is going to be a wet condition knife and I need weatherproof grips...

Then we have both sizes of both iterations of the cold steel leatherneck: the sf and the bowie. Based on my research, the only issue people had with these knives was the choice of D2 steel. Since these are purely for self defense, I am not worried about the metal choice. I have and plan to acquire other knives for non defense related tasks.

Finally, the 14 inch blade bowie with D guard from ex gurkha kukri house. Once again, this blade is purely for defense. It would work great as a large knife/machete for camping/wilderness survival BUT I prefer to acquire a cold steel trailmaster 2v for that as it's shorter, lighter and made of a stronger steel.

Welcome to BF! It’s a blast here. Looks like you’re gonna fit right in. :)
