New MIM clip now available from CRK

lol, well like I said I don’t have problems with it and new to them but it looks cheap. How’s that👍🏼

I'm also a fan of the original clip. I do like the aesthetics of some of the aftermarket milled clips like RGT or Nice Guy Machine Co, but I've never been willing to pay that much for a clip I liked the look of more but very likely the performance of less. For $40 and coming from the OEM who obviously knows how a clip should work, I decided this one was worth a shot.

Ordered my first today. We'll try it put before I spend the cost of a new CRK swapping it out on all my CRKs.

I have been using the standard stamped clip. I have a CRK hawk spring clip to try out if needed. I will try and get by with those options.

Sadly, I’ve already seen one report of someone snapping a clip upon install. Hopefully, they send it back to CRK for analysis.View attachment 2775787
With the original "cheap" clips, you can remove them, grip the attachment point with a pair of pliers, and gently adjust the holding tension to your liking. I needed to do that when switching to the heavy Riggs work pants, with the leather pocket protector for Winter. I wouldn't try that with these new clips. I'll just keep the clips that are on mine, thank you..

I have to wonder if they weren't using excessive force on that area while trying to get the clip to "snap" into the pocket on the handle. I have one 21 in particular that I can't press the clip into position....I have to align it in place and let the screw press it down into position as I tighten it up. Once it is in, it remains tight and secure even with the screw missing. When removing it, it has to be carefully pried off. My others come right off and go right in and while they're not loose, they're definitely not press fit. Without knowing the details of that failure I'd have to guess whatever happened also would have happened to a machined Ti clip. I'm sure the buzz around it is all about how bad MIM is. My new clip should be here today or tomorrow and it is going on the knife with the tight clip fit, I'll report back when I have it installed.

I am curious to hear the feedback once everyone starts receiving the new clips.

Just got my new clip!

Received 2 glass blasted today.
Not impressed. They do not sit flush at all (as in, they float above the scale at the end of the clip), and one of them will not fit into the slot at all and I'm afraid to torque into place with fear of damaging the scale.
Returning both.

Sad to hear this… I see several people moving them in the classifieds too, probably same conclusion. Must not be the CRK quality we are used to seeing🤷‍♂️

After some USPS shenanigans I got mine in this afternoon. I have none of the problems mentioned above and feel it is worth what it cost. Sits nice and flush and fit great on the knife. This is the knife that I can't press any clip into, I have to line it up and let the screw take it home as I tighten. Same thing with this one and it went in no problem. Overall I'm a fan. Feels good in the hand and feels about the same as a stock clip going in and out of the pocket. I'll probably order a couple more for some other knives. The one thing I'll say is that I don't know how great of a match the sandblast finish is. Feels rougher than I remember a fresh Sebenza feeling, and the color isn't quite the same. It'll wear in and match over time so it's no big deal. In the middle pic, the knife on the left hasn't seen a ton of carry since it was at the spa and the new clip doesn't quite match it or the old beat up knife it is mounted on.
