New run of 48 Weasels, Hawthornes, DJ's, and IT's!

Thanks, Alan. I received the Lone Star SFO 48 in smooth white bone today, so time for another updated picture when I have a chance :)

Ooo, that makes me hopeful I'll get mine soon. And the stalking of the mailman commences. :D

I haven't figured out how to buy a Lone Star 48 even if I wanted to. I got my two blade tiger eye weasel today. Beautiful knife!! May have to get a jigged bone two blade to keep it company.

I'm in control, I can stop any time I want. ;)

Only 20 of the smooth white bone were made for Lone Star and they sold out pretty fast. :(
I hate telephones & avoid them at all cost*, but I braved TWO phone calls (first time the owner was out) to get one. Smooth white bone might just be my favorite scale material.

Regarding the bolded: Yep. Me too. Totally. Uh huh. :p

*Sounds melodramatic and silly but it's tantamount to a phobia.

20 is a pretty low number. How did you find out only 20 were made? Just wondering. Thanks.

The person I spoke to told me when I called to order one. He said there were only 20 total and only about half were still available. I'm assuming the gentleman I spoke to was the owner but I don't know for sure. First time I called, his wife answered and said she'd have her husband call me back. If the gentleman who called me back said his name, I was too nervous and didn't notice or remember. He was awesome and patient and very nice and very southern, whoever he was. :)

Thanks for the information. I appreciate it. I emailed him and it took a few days but I finally got a reply and a knife. I plan on updating the group with the smooth bone version when I get a chance. Thanks again.

Oh gosh! What are we doing? Is it a little bit crazy?

I think it IS just a little bit crazy. The same thing happens with many other offerings by GEC.... people get talked into wanting one, then two and so forth. Essentially were all enablers and talk ourselves into needing and wanting this knife. At the beginning, I looked at the production schedule and saw two blade #48's planned. I liked the idea of the #48, but wanted two blades period. So I waited....

I know. We're all inflicted by this scourge!:D

Moi? Crazy? Nahhhhh. All y'all might be crazy; nothing by sanity over here. Yeppers. ;)

It is time for a Mod smackdown! :D

Meep. Hoping the big smiley face means good natured jest, but I apologize just in case if I committed a faux pas - talking too much about the buying process or something else. :o

Beautiful! *resists the urge to run to the mailbox* :P

Not to worry, just in jest (although the mods are very touchy about discussing the sales process).

His name is Percy. You're correct, he's a gentleman. Such a nice guy. I have a few of his pieces from GEC.

All my 48's. The Cardinal Red is from an older run. It is well patina-ed. Soon the others will be also. Especially the stag.

Wuff !! bozazk those are looking good! I have a stag that is just ok. Yours looks great! Nice collection man!

I see the 2-blade burnt stags are out or beginning to hit the dealers. I think I'll wait for a 2-blade antique gold jigged bone. I don't want to have any excuses for not using this knife. It's going to replace the #71 in my pocket at the moment. Getting tired of this one as I don't like the blade shape for everyday cutting.
