New Run of No. 15s (Beer Scout and Otherwise)

I can't wait to recieve mine. It's trapped in purgatory at the moment. Arrived at my local post office Friday morning. Some how left my local back to the distribution center an hour and a half away and departed there again last night at 11:00. No new updates. It was supposed to arrive today. At this point, I hope I actually get the knife.

My Trio and couldn't be happier, Gec did a outstanding job on these .

Looking good TheFactor:thumbup: It has been great to see how excited and pleased so many members have been with this whole run of #15's.

Thanks StoneBeard , That's partially what got me going with the #15's and peaked my interest 👍

That patina looks nice. I've been going back and forth on wether to let it develop naturally or do a force patina. I just can't decide.

Go natural. It will come really quick if you use it for food. Some meat and a couple of pieces of fruit will get you on your way quickly.

Ya potatoes, meat, acidic fruits and veggies, will all give a great patina.

Do you guys patina the tang area as well? If so best method for that? Just rub a slice of fruit or whatever you are prepping around up there? And also, do you just rub said food on cap lifter to get a patina going on it?

Some will drip on it eventually etc

I just leave the caplifter. It will make much longer obviously.

You could open both blades and stick in an orange or whatever or hot vinegar and it will take care of them both

Apple a day keeps the doctor and rust away! I like to rub a little juice on the springs too

I posted this photo on the Charred Beer Barrel Scout thread, but here it is for you all. Long story short...I received a #33 Charred Beer Barrel Scout and when I opened the tube...out came a maroon linen micarta Beer Scout knife with a #33 stamped on the bolster! What a surprise! This seems to be an error made by GEC, and the wrong knife was stamped and placed into the tube for the #33 Charred Beer Barrel Scout knife. I am keeping it, just because it is a pretty interesting one-of-a-kind knife now. Luckily, I was also able to obtain the #96 Charred Oak Beer Barrel knife as well, so I DO have a real charred oak knife. LOL

How do you like the finish/feel of the maroon micarta?
I'm thinking of picking one up

Loving my crown lifter

Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk

Hurrah! :D Mine arrived in Europe today- sent from Michigan 13 Dec - but very much well worth the wait. As I suspected, this is the 15 I like the most of the several I have. I like the bone, the absence of any bail...the build quality is fab and it feels IT in the hand.

Now all I need is one of those nice big silver Dollars you have....or one of those Gold 20 Dollars..:D.but I suppose even the silver ones cost a lot?

Congrats, I love mine as well. Actually the coin was a hand-me-down from my grandmother who collected coins and also owned a pawn shop. I think these Morgan silver dollars are pretty cheap actually. Around $25 bucks in good condition. Cheers on the new crown lifter!
