oh man!! going to be a pricey year:eek:
I hope they don't all come out a the same time.:(
They all are so expensive but so nice I like!!!:D

thanks!

that is very good news i like that steel. i was hoping that it was not going to be S30V:barf:

What is it about vg-10 you like better then s30v???
I think it is easier to sharpen what other reasons would there be:confused:

thx gine.

While VG-10 won't have the wear resistance of S30V, the edge will be less likely to deform/will be more stable. S30V seems to micro chip for some, while I haven't had this happen, it seems to happen when cutting on some medias.

Has it been mentioned whether or not the Urban will be offered in other colors? I'm head over heels for the wharncliffe Urban, but I hate orange. Grey would be fantastic, but anything neutral would suffice.

hi!! I´new here, but I have Spydercos long time ago.
Please be patient, Im not speak english well.

Police, Barong and Native IV are on my wish list.

Greetings for All.

Thanks for the photos. Spyderco sure has some interesting designs in the works.

The Native 4 looks fantastic. It addresses everything I disliked about the Native (Hollow saber grind, flat part of the finger choil on the FRN, handle shape etc.) I couldn't help but notice the handle bears a strong resemblance to the Native I modded. Glad to see it take this evolution, I always felt that type of handle was much more comfortable in use.

I'm excited for the Sage and Urban as well. I've become a big fan of smaller knives lately, with my EDC being a clipless Spin in my 5th pocket and a UKPK clipped RF.

Are these the two different sized Citadels? At first that's what I thought they were, but there doesn't look to be much (if any) size difference between these two knives.

Looking at them again, it appears that they have different grinds on their blades with the second one looking almost hollow ground. Anybody know or have any ideas about this? Or am I just seeing things? :)

The perspective and angle is a bit off in the pics, but these are indeed two different sized knives:
C117 Citadel: bladelength 3 5/8 inches
C119 Citadel 83 mm: bladelength 3 1/4 inches

Ya I heard the same thing. people that sharpen their s30v steel on the triangle sharpmaker.People are complaining that the aliminum oxide in
the rods are'nt hard enough to properly grind down the vandium carbides
in s30v.

It's the first time I saw that argument for the difficulty of sharpening S30V. Then agian, I'm not steelhead so I don't know anything about the properties of S30V compared to the aluminum oxide in the stones.

I do know that Spyderco's S30V is usually ground so thin that it falls way below the 40 degree angle. Due to the thin edge, resharpening is generally very easy on the Sharpmaker.

i cant get any of my s30v knives razor sharp.

i like D2 and 154CM with VG-10 as a close 3rd.

and i really dont NEED the wear resistance that s30v has to offer. if was cutting rope all day then i might be an advocate of s30v but if i cut open a box or string or plastic once or twice a day then the listed steels sbove do just fine.
