New Stuff From Ka-Bar

I wonder if the BB knife construction can handle hacking with them.
Such a heavy blade on a sticky tang ? I dunno...this is more of a "movie knife".

The Mk1 should make perfect lightweight "trekking" blades.
I´ll get me the kraton version for sure.

haha no problem Ethan. Just excited!

I've been coming back to this thread daily to look at this baby. I know it ain't a Becker, but I have to be honest and say that I can't recall EVER being this excited about a knife coming out. Right size, price, material, design. Everything about this knife looks amazing.

I sent a late night gushing email to Toooj about both this knife and the Dog's Head Stockman (another knife I MUST have). He told me that the leather handled Mark 1 will be exclusive to Blue Ridge Knives and will only be made available through dealers who go through them. Any ideas who those would be? I want to buy and use the Kraton version, and get a leather version to lock in a safe never to see the light of day.

One more time...

I'm really looking forward to this knife. I'm normally prefer the leather handles but that black looks real nice.

Glad to see this one come back up, that is one handy looking knife. Having a hard time deciding between the black or leather though, there are pluses to both. I will say fwiw, and no one asked me either, but on the leather I think the metal spacer by the guard is a little too thick, it rivals the guard in prominence and looks a little disjoint there.

As soon as I saw those in a video from bladeshow I immediately thought bushcraft. It looks like a great camp knife and the beautiful stacked handle makes it look that much better. I also really love the blade shape. cant wait for theses to come out.

The classics always look good. I can see picking up one of those with the leather.

Good basic knife:
tested in real life.
Valued in peacetime and in strife.

I, too, will always love those stacked leather handles. Warm, comfortable ... reminds me of home and my youth.

I got some more pics from this outting with Ethan, I'll put them up later, right now, off the woods.:D

I hear ya Physics, stacked leather just feels good and on that knife, it feels real good. The kraton does too, but I like Kabar leather handles, the take me back to my first real knife, everytime I hold one.
