New Super Blue Caly 3

Wow got lucky and ordered one of the 10 at howes. They were gone in a flash. Happened to stop in at home to get warm around 3:00 in between horses and saw the email from Howes. Really looking forward to this one.
 
Did everybody score one who really wanted one?

I had a hell of a time keeping the scales clean on the 3.5 I had, that grey just shows everything. Magic eraser sounds like a good idea, where is a good place to pick them up?

edit: Are these the same magic erasers that are suppose to remove light rust? Does it wear down the G10 at all...? Possibly a dumb question...
 
My 3.5 doesn't stay very clean, but I've come to terms with it.

You can get it at Walgreens, grocery store, or even online. Its good at removing marks and smudges on many surfaces including handlescale materials such as G10. After a good wash with dishsoap, I cut a piece and rub the entire scale with it afterward. Good as new.

As for rust, something like Flitz should work well. Steel wool also.
 
If you use a Magic Eraser get the heavy duty version (I think they call it the kitchen scrubber), the regular version will just crumble from the texture of the G10. That is my experience anyway. Those things really are magic, I don't know what's in them but they clean everything. Must be made from unicorn hair or something.
 
I want one bad, also said they are coming out with a stretch in SB :D Hell Yea!!! Now It's just decision time, No no decision I will have them both , and the domino and the kharahawk <-------I think thats what it's called the spyderco/emerson collab Karambit, 2013 gonna be expensive!
 
Happy mail day. My 2 from KW just came today. I didn't even realized that they'd shipped, so the package was a nice surprise.

Strangely, they're still showing as "pre-order" on the KW site.

I agree. I really like the knife, just not the gray G10. I'm not sure why, but the gray G10 reminds me of a utility tan k-car. I thought about dying it, but don't want to have to keep up with it so it doesn't look awful. I love the knife just not the color of the scales.
 
I might have to pick up one of these new models coming out with super blue and gray, they will be awesome! Can't waiy

See, I wasn't a fan of the knife until I saw that picture of it with a little grime on it, something about it just looks awesome to me... I'm officially jealous of it now :D
 
Got my Caly 3 Super and noticed that they changed the pivot screw. It's even more bulbous than the previous one! It looks like a big pimple. Aside from this ugly feature, it's everything I expected. The fit and finish seems better than with the 3.5 Super.
 
I like the 3.5 SB so much I bought a spare. My 3 SB is not even here (should arrive today) and I'm already kicking myself for not ordering a spare for it too.
