A lot of folks seem to get huffy about the term EDC (every day carry), especially as applied to a group of knives.
"You don't carry ALL of them every day! That's not EDC!!!"

So I figure why not side-step the whole thing?
Hence Regular Carry Rotation (perhaps "RCR" for all you acronym fans :)).

It works for all the knives you regularly carry.
For people who liked the idea of "But it's a category! These are the sorts of knives people might carry every day!", this works too, as in "This is the category of knives people might regularly carry."

So get ready for when I post pictures of my RCR knives. :D

Stab wins the Internet...AGAIN.

Feh. I simply ignore the anally retentive and call it EDC as God obviously intended. And yes, I rotate a bunch of knives BECAUSE I CAN!

:)

When I say EDC knife, I don't mean it literally. When I say EDC knife I mean "This is a knife that I can carry everyday" I don't get why people get butthurt when others use the term "EDC" often.

Brilliant! Good show, sir.

Stab wins the Internet...AGAIN.

You, sir, are a true visionary!

Yay! :D

Pretty much. That's a good term for it.

It came to me when I was responding to an e-mail. I mentioned that the knife in question was going to become a valuable part of my regular knife rotation...and I thought hey, why not throw it out there as an alternate term. :)

And if no one else ever uses it, it'll enable me to be more confusing in my communications.

I like your idea better than EDC

Also, smokeeater's term, CCK- current carry knife

Oh great! Now I have another TLA that I have to remember. I kinda like CCR for current carry rotation. That way it could be used for any type of gear. The bottom line is that the term EDC is known by everyone and it is here to stay.

BTW, that would be "three letter acronynm" for those of you that are not into TLAs or military time.

I think you're missing the point. Calling a nice a good EDC knife is fine.

The problem is when someone posts a picture and says 'here's today's edc' then tomorrow posts a different knife and says the same thing.

Don't call a knife YOUR edc knife if you don't carry it every day. It's an edc knife that you own.

Just say screw all the acronym putznpansy be and just say 'today's carry' or 'what I'm carrying today'.

I read it as Totally Lame Acronym.

None of these are acronyms. Acronyms spell out a pronounceable word, like SCUBA or NATO.

These are all just initialisms.

Indeed. George Carlin had a good bit about that. Most of his stuff was great.

RCR is quite clever stabman.
