New here and just got my first Kin knife today. I would have posted in the Swamp Rat forum, but it seems dead there.

Knife is awesome and I'm currently looking for my first Busse knife...can't wait for the next offering. I think I'm officially addicted.

Ratmandu - Sage with tan micarta

Welcome. I'm a recent addition having a purchased a ratweiler back in the early spring and recently ordered a ratmandu as well. Sage blade with green micarta handle to match my ratweiler. Still waiting on the shipping notice for the RMD.

I've been posting photos in this thread and would encourage the same with the ratmandu as you use it. There are a few people trying to get more swamp rats produced as there has been a bit of a lull of new products it seems compared to the busse's. I think the Busse CG offerings have somewhat taken over the more budget friendly idea of the swamp rat line but I may be wrong. I think there's more to the story of the two brands but I think that was kind of the attempt, similar quality but different materials.

Yeah, I'm sure I will. I think I can do PM's with the basic account. I wasn't sure when I first signed up, so I just did the basic.

Is there a way to "upgrade" so you just pay the difference?

All I can say is most comfortable handle I've had on a knife and they know how to heat treat.

My gateway kin was technically a black/tan mic Ratmandu ordered from the shop, but I got antsy waiting for it and snaged the above LE off the exchange, which arrived first. :)

Your post is the embodiment of the problem here... and I blame Bravado (technically his absence and policing) for that...

RMD has been called the 'gateway drug' for Busse & Kin addiction for a long time!
It was my first back in what seem to be shrouded by mists of time...

Congrats on your purchase... and welcome to the rest of your life when you count your savings in number of knives...
