New Zombie TV Show ( The Walking Dead )

Turns out this has been AMC's most highest watched show ever. This was one Very Cool pilot. A year to see new ones is a long time, cuz I was really lookin for it on a Sun. night fun to do thang. One thing is it must have caused a BIG stir with the comicbook.!!!! I say this because a local *small* comic book shop took out an ad for the last 4 eps of the show, just to say they have the comics there. And TV air time is big $$$s. So I guess the store must be thinkin its gonna cash in on comic sales. If they arn't allready? enjoy edgy
I'm gonna go and check them out:D

My thinking is that this was more of a "pilot series" than a first series.
Haven't seen a zombie tv show before so I reckon it was only 6 episodes to see if a zombie tv would actually work. turns out it did, and 6 episodes wasn't enough, at least not for me. :D

The show was actually renewed for a second season prior to the first episode ever being aired. AMC knew they had a hit. Not to shocking, as every issue of the comic sells out.

Well, I'm hooked big time.
Wonder what's gonna be up with the French? And any guesses what Jenner told Rick at their parting?

That was an awesome ending.

Now the big 10 month wait til' the next one.:grumpy:

"You've got such a sweet butt...Too bad you're married"?

LOL, seriously, I was wondering that also. All part of the "cliffhanger" I suppose.

are you sure it is a 10 month wait, remember Jericho, came out with a short pilot season around the same time that ended before Christmas but it picked back up in the spring time.... I am hooked on the show which is cool, nice to have a replacement for me to fill the void left by 24

That guy Shane is a loose cannon. He's getting a little creepy. As soon as Rick turned up alive that whole affair with his wife was over and done and he should have respected that as his best friend. Anyone read the Q&A from the website with the Actor who played Jenner?

Q: So fess up. What did Jenner whisper into Rick's ear?

A: "You know the most important thing to remember in life, like the most important thing in life? If I could tell you one thing that's the most import thing to get by and have a happy life, it's that -- [Emmerich begins mumbling] -- and that's exactly what it is." Did you hear me?

I'm trying to find out when the second season will air. But it will be a 13 episode season. That is for sure. Another thing is the writer/executive producer/director has let go the writers he had teamed up with in favor of free lance writers. We'll see how that pans out.

that is what I am hoping for, if you remember Heroes, they kind of lost a lot of people stopping it after a short season and waiting. They should be working on the second half of season 1 to keep us going

Yea, if it ain't broke don't fix it. This series is the most watched world wide in history. He better no eff it up.

That would be awesome. But if the director already let go of the writers probably won't happen. I sure hope they don't drop the ball on this one.

According to the article earlier on in the thread talking about the firing of the writers, they didn't to much anyway.

Darabont himself wrote two of the six episodes and was heavily involved in rewriting or co-writing the other four. Of those, two were written by outside writers, one was penned by Glen Mazzara, and the fourth was written by Robert Kirkman, creator of the comic book on which the show is based. So it doesn't appear that the full-time staff was a necessity.

I was late to this party so I didn't read that post. I'm sure it will be good no matter what. It better be. This is my favorite show right now. Along with Boardwalk Empire.
