New Zombie TV Show ( The Walking Dead )

Again, I am simply astounded that these zombie threads get as many replies as they do. Someone can post up a unique variation on a survival skill and it might get 2 pages of posts, post a zombie thread up and it gets 10 pages. Go figure.

Oh and there is no safety on a glock.

Aside from this, and the protagonist's nonchalant behavior concerning the zombpocalypse, I really enjoyed the first episode. It will be interesting to see where the rest of the series goes, but from the looks of things, this show seems promising.

Seriously though, when the deputy thumbed the slide release on the Glock and they threw a sound effect in there to make it seem like he accomplished something other than looking like a dumbass, I lol'd. :jerkit:

I'm wondering if you're afraid they'll find out YOU'RE a zombie. :p

I watched it, it was pretty good but I was just disappointed by the lack of intelligence used by the main character guy. His weapon of choice being that large revolver,
I hear this a lot.
He picked what he knew. A lot of police I see still choose to carry a .357 revolver on duty for various reasons.
The fact that it was, or at least looked like, a Colt Python, means he chose it, bought it with his own money, and was good with it.

and he walked around with no since of situational awareness what so ever.
Just got out of a coma. Probably was having some "accepting reality" issues with waking up from a coma, to find the hospital deserted, with blood and bullet holes everywhere and the dead walking.

Him being a police officer I would think he would be slightly more cautious and better prepared.
Why? What would a regular, run of the mill deputy do that would prepare him for this?

The fact that the characters are regular people, making decisions based on what they know -- many of which are going to be BAD decisions, makes this better than your average zombie flick.

I really enjoyed the show. Some of the gun stuff I could get in a twist about, but it's a TV show and it's been this way in Hollywood forever. They rarely get gun stuff right.

Thought it was very well done overall though. Look forward to the next episode.

Even the seasoned ESEE cool aid drinkers, need some entertainment, every once in a while.

i think as the series goes on the main character will get a lot smarter... its pretty sad how he didnt think of siphoning the other cars when he was looking for gas... and that horse... got destroyed

Well we all know glocks don't come standard with safeties this is hollywood after all which is in commifornia. Might be the subliminal messages of the flock needs to be safe with the after market safety put in for law enforcement. Not to far fetched for something made outside the country.

They had about 50 people pretending to be zombies at Penn Station the other day. Definitely got my attention, will see how it goes.

Jeff – Zombie survival is the most necessary survival skill around, why else would you make the Junglas? :D

I wasn't aware Glocks had external safeties, am I wrong?

I liked it alot. There are of course the mistakes that can be pointed out in just about any movie or TV show, but overall, I thought they did a pretty good job.

As for his situational awareness...... Realistically put youself into the situation. Sure, we all talk about what we'll do when the time comes and how awesome we all are with a chainsaw or baseball bat but I bet that we'd all be a little lost mentally.

:DWell with all of the "Zombie" shows movies 100s of them ever sence Night of the living Dead came out, jezz what 35 years ago? Zombies are as popular as Vampires it seems. Any ways, I watched the 1st show, and I thought it was very well done (never seen the comic) So I'm waitin for the next one. Just been wonderin what makes people "Zombie Fans?" List your reasons. 1 of mine. Very good for target pratice. :D OK your turn. enjoy edgy

They don't. I believe that is why the US military never contracted the Glocks. The military wanted an external safety and Glock refused to add it to the design so the military decided to stick with the Beretta M9...at least that is what I have been told...

The original Night of the Living Dead - 42 years ago!!! (That can't be.)
Milla Jovovich made me a zombie fan.

I like the show, but even more entertaining is a debate about how real (or not) is "the gun stuff" on a show about zombies. Talk about your selective suspension-of-disbelief. lol

I really liked the show despite the Glock safety thing and all. It was really suspenseful especially when he was under the tank. Over all good show and I look forward to next week.

I got a chuckle out of the glock safety thing too but was even more entertained by how many shots the cops had to take before they actually hit the first guy with the shotgun. I thought the show was fun and was pretty surprised by the amount of gore they were able to get away with.

Agreed - probably the only scene creepier than the under-the-tank scene was the chained door with the "don't open, dead inside!" sign.
