Years ago, when I worked in the R&D group a major computer maker in Cupertino, CA., we were told not to discuss any new products outside the office. There are "ears" planted in restaurants, bars (especially) and anywhere that employees would gather.
It was a form of high tech espionage on a very low tech level. You could be having a beer and some guy/woman would strike up a conversation and sooner or later questions would get narrowed to new products.
I was surprised how this new product got revealed many months before release and the frenzy it's caused is proof of that. I mean, product drawings were posted and that was unheard of in my profession.
Yes, I have a pre-order too but in the meantime, I see it as $260 bucks or so that I have until I get an e-mail.
